is "8J x 17 H2"

So they are 8" wide, 17" diameter. What does the "J' and the "H2" mean?

They are CSA Pursuits. Checked the website but can't find any clues.

Cheers. :D

J is the bead profile. Don't know what H2 means.

The "H" refers to the speed rating. In this case it means the tyre has a maximum speed rating of 210 kph.

This site (http://www.carbibles.com/tyre_bible.html) is an excellent reference site for car related stuff.

That would be fine, except the H is on the wheels not the tyres..

Thanks guys.

About halfway down on that website explains it all.

H2 means the wheel is designed for "H" rated tyres- rated at 210kmh (for at least 10 minutes before tyre disintegrates)

The site also talks about "ET45" stamped on a wheel meaning a positive offset of 45mm, so I guess the wheels I've got don't have any offset.

There's been alot of discussion on AMC about needing offset when going to big (19" and 20") wheels.

So......17"s don't need offset........I hope.

I get no rubbing as it is, but the tyres at the front stick out about 5mm from the guard, so gonna have to get the guards rolled. Damn Tyrepower!!

Is 8" wide legal on a TH Exec?
