Hi guys, I was hoping that someone may have some knowledge the two problems I'm having with my KH Verada wagon, the first is water leaking into the passenger side foootwell. I found my car had sprung another leak so I pulled up the carpet and there was heaps of water there and can't workout if it's a windscreen problem ( looks like it's fairly new ) or a heater problem or if it's sneaking thru somewhere else ?????
Also the TCL light and engine light sometimes come on and when the car has been turned off and later restarted it has dissapeared??? I stopped at a Mitsu dealer and the service guy came and hooked up his handheld computer and reset the cars computer and told me if it happens again to go to a Mitsu dealer and have it fully checked out???
If anyone has any knowledge of the above problems please let me know!!!
PS, Thanks for the replys to my previous thread!
Kind Regards, bigblackbull.

Hi Heath, Yeah my first I thought was it was the heater? most of the water was at the front of the passengers seat and there is a long flat black plastic piece beneath the carpet which runs from beneath the dash and finishes just there. ( is it part of the heater? ) I am only assuming that it has something to do with the heater? I used the heater tonight and there was no sign of any leaks? the water seems to come from the bottom up??? tommorow I'm going to give it a wash with the carpet lifted and see if I can see what is going on??? Kind Regards, Frank.

All this water is connected and recirculates through your system. You need to have a serious look at your cooling system as well. You are heading for some head gasket problems (no pun intended)

Not sure about the warning lights, the dealer should have pulled the codes before they reset them. As for the leak, it is possible the door seals are stuffed. We found mine were leaking behind the seal. 2003 KJ2 Verada wagon.

I am surprised that no one here has stated the obvious.....What colour is the water on the floor as I assuem you have cooant in the cooling system and if it is the heater core or the heater tap leaking then you will have green coolant on the floor not clear water, the smell will also give it away. Not to mention that you will be losing coolant and constantly topping it up. Another symptom is the screen fogs up easily

have u been using the a/c lately? most cars have the a/c unit on passenegr side. a by product of using a/c is water. there will be a little black drain hose which is used to drain this water to the outside of the car{puddle of water under car when a/c is on}. very common for these to block with gunk and cause water to overflow on the inside of car.get a piece of wire etc. & insert from outside in. hope this helps.

Hi Guys, Stinky, the hose you are talking about is it the one within the engine bay(passenger side), that is coming out of a black plastic caninster and opens out to the bottom of the engine bay? I placed wire up the hose but looked pretty clean anyhow? There hasn't been any water so far this week.
On the weekend I went around and pulled all four wheels off to give the wheel arches and beneath the car a good scrub! as the car was dirty, I found between the wheel arch and the rear of the car there are 2 rubber plugs in the floorpan (driver side) and one was missing so I taped it up with some water proof tape to see if that is how the water is gettting in ? The car is parked on a slope and gravity would send water trickling in that direction ?
will wait and see with this one. Cheers.

have you had any wireing done as of late like stereo or something that would have run thru the kick panel and the rubber not fitted back properly as thats where the water runs down and it just pours in thru th hole..........just another option.
