Ok. To remove the centre console (which I've done on my ks numerous times, is a five minute
job, may even be less) as follows:
1. Push your seats forward to expose the two screws either side of the console box, remove
those.
2. Remove the ashtray and remove the two screws.
3. Put you gear lever into 1 and gently left the rear section of the console and slide backwards.
4. Undo the two screws exposed below the mirror control and cig lighter.
5. Lift the plastic gently but firmly and pull at the same time (its held in by spring clips).

Fitting things back is the reverse order.

To remove the clear cover:
1. First just pull the trip metre reset pin out.
2. Remove the two screws under the top of the dash.
3. Lower the steering to its lowest point.
4. Pull the dash cluster towards you to disengage it from the connectors.
5. Take it out by sliding it towards the centre of the car (that is to your left). You may need to
twist it a bit to fit through the gap between the dash and the steering.
6. The clear cover is held in by screws I think at the bottom and clips at the top.

I hope that helps.

but about removing the clear off the cluster....i tried pulling the pin out..but i was a bit hesitant on it. it sort of clicked out but wouldnt come out anymore.

should i use more force and give a good ole' heeve ho' ??
