Hey Guys i know its a topic that is well talked about but i have no idea what else to do. I have been having problems with the transmission in my TF magna. I have had it serviced twice and have diconnected battery trying to reset computer it was ok for a few days but then went to ****. It is holding on through the gears and changing late or early and sometimes throws the car forward and has the roughest change from 3rd to 4th i have ever experienced! It also goes into reverse with a clunk. Any one with any suggestions please give us some help.
thanks

Hi Nivlak,
First of all, who serviced your transmission and did you ask them to have a look at its condition?
Is there any revv'ing out, when it does not change gear?
Does/do you use your OVERDRIVE/A/T mode or whatever your car has (Buttons for the trans), if so are these problems with those buttons engaged or not?
How many K's has the car done?
did the previous owner get the Trans serviced often?
I'm not sure if this could be your ECU, so I will wait on your reply
I see your online so will keep an eye out

by the way every time you reset the computer the auto ecu itself resets to adjust to your shift pattern

reset it and give it a italian tune (drive hard when its learning)
have you got a transmission cooler other than the radiator job fitted standard?

Can u buy a new ECU or computer or if they stuff up then thats it? i am all new to the auto i am use to a manual. thanks for your advice i will wait for you to reply.

Exactly the same as me...but i have a rough 2-3 change...so far i have done the following
-cleaning alll the electrical connections and plugs on the tranny.
-had it flushed twice
-had the computers checked for error codes(came up with nothing).
-reset the comptuters and done the re-learn procedure numerous times in various ways
For the moment im living with it...next step in fixing the problem for me is
-new/reco/wreckers transmission
-new transmission computer(suggesed by the mitsubishi dealer)
Hope this helps
Daniel
p.s my car has done 143,000kms
Hmm...does anyone know what the end clutch in the transmssion does?....
from what i have seen on the net, it looks reasonably easy to get off and check, but i have no idea what sort of symptoms a worn/warped end clutch would cause...if anyone knows, i'd be interested to know what it does.

this is kind of worrifying as I done 171K already but transmissions of my auto is fine. I just did an ATF change just recently, and so far is all good. I heard these ECUs are so expensive and wonder if is any good at all even if you changed it.
