As per my sig, the amount/importance of things I am having replaced under warranty is worrying me.

Post up things you have had replaced under warranty so i know what to look out for!!!

No problems,

MIght get side lens repeaters re-sealed or replaced next service to stop it holding water, 6500 k's and no problem.

There really isnt that much problems with the TL/TW, although my lumbar support can soemtimes squeak, but a little adjustment usually fixes it.

Go to the Ford Forums and check out the problems they are having with the BA, Brakes, Diffs, Trans etc, it goes on

how was ur seat moving ?

coz mines got a bit of play in it... just a lil bit backwards and forwards.
(almost feels like its just the seat back...not the whole seat).

Is that the same as u had ?

This may be a dumb question, but did you find these defects out yourself or did you get someone to check for them? My car comes out of dealers warranty in a couple of weeks but I have extended factory warranty. RAA did the full check when I bought the car, is this enough or should I get a going over again before dealer warranty runs out?

I found all these problems myself. I don't think the dealers are going to actively tell you about problems to look out for.

It wouldn't be a bad idea to get an RAA check (although personally i would get a trusted independant mechanic who is familiar with Mitsubishi's)

For people who haven't had any problems, how many k's have you done?

i have done 30k in the magna and some of these have been driven hard as when i first got it i was doing around 700 km a week for work due to living in one town and working in another

early start and late finish made for some fast trips up and down the hills to work and it never missed a beat

lancer i had before had done over 100k without any problems either and was still running great when i slod it to a bloke for his sons first car

5k so far with only the:

* rear demister only half working.
* both rear view mirrors scratched by the detailer.

The dealer replaced the the rear window and both rear view mirrors without issue.

I would note that the dealers will replace entire assemblies when it comes to manufacturing issues as these are sent back to the factory. So even a minor issue would result in the replacement of an entire assembly eg.

* Complete Drivers side mirror
* Complete rear handbrake mechanism

The only problem you've listed that concerns me is the fuel tank. Why did they have to replace it?

There was a broken baffle inside the tank.

And if anyone has any clue as to how these can break (it hasn't been hit) let me know. The only thing i can think of is dodgy welding?

done 32,000k's on my TL

So far things done under warranty:

- Drivers seat belt thingy was squeaky, they oiled it and its now fine
- hand brake replaced with an upgraded unit, was grinding
- drivers seat lumbar support snapped TWICE - was replaced both times no dramas

that is all, and although the lumbar support and handbrake was annoying, they are both replaced now, didnt cost me a cent, and everything is now fine.. its rare to buy a new car and never have anything fixed under warranty, thats just the nature of cars! I have heard of porsche and BMW drivers turning up for EVERY service with atleast a 10 point list of things that need to be fixed under warranty!

i had my TL for about 12000, i broght it with 30000 kms. So far here is my list

Rear Screen.
Driver seat twice.
Oil Filter blew up, and off, almost cooked my engine.
Window controll switches.
Battery, mine dided 13 months so i had to pay for it.
Lumber support broke, well the cable latch anyway so i fixed it myself.
Massive fuel surge with low fuel, no idea what that is.
Had my driver window realined twice.
Parts of the Turning vanes in the headers went straight through my cat.
I have to get the cupholder thing replaced, doesn't close properly.
And handbrake does not work, well it works if car is stopped but once going no good at all.

that's all. LOL
