i noticed you have a nice modest cait on your bonnet how hard was it for you to get this done plus modify your air intake (or did you just install a pod filter) .

I think his pod still feeds 95% from the stock induction setup. I don't believe he has it fully finished it. I agree though, it was something I thought would be pretty trick.

Wooohhaaaa! If this scoop is sealed to a pod it's the best CAI any one can do.
No long, bent tubes, no hot air. Just fresh flow of slightly forced air straight in.
And you thought Big Kev was exited!!!!
Can we have a pic how it looks inside....?

Theorectically it's pretty damn good and Evo's have them for a reason, but having a larger cross sectional area could be better. A shorter induction length from these is probably good too.

NO you can all get lost!
Im sick of people wanting to look under my hood and copy what I have done http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/images/smiles/razz.gif

  JK

Redav is correct it is not "yet" sealed into its own special area...
The pod I have does not suit this setup as I thought it would....
My POD is more suited to a setup like Booyas... but having the POD inside the car... My pod is sealed around the sides and has a hole only in wither end for the Air to Flow through.... here is a quick idea of what it looks like cut in half :D

I plan on making up a sealed box and then Ill remove the outer shell and have it as a normal POD inside the sealed box.

Ill put a pic up of the POD later tonight... it is a pretty budget install :D

Sounds better. Consider the airflows when designing the outer cover for the pod. Avoid any pockets and voids and stuff - but you knew this already.
Besides, what comes to pics under your bonnet.... haven't you seen that tiny lense there yet, SpyCam. Sorry.... 8)

that whole in the bonnet will completely mess up the magna's superior aero-dynamics, what were u thinking

That entrance is similar to a NACA entrance which is designed to minimise the effects of the duct on the exterior airflow.

actually i was more interested in where you got the bonnet scoop done and what you asked for.

did you do it yourself or get a crash repairer to do it ?

It is a top piece only from SSV from an EVO V/VI and it was put in by myself and my brother-in-law
The piece cost $300 and there would have been approx 50-60 hours worth of work involved in completeing the job from start to finish.
I would NOT do this again..... without buying an origional bonnet from Mitsubishi.

60 hours for just the cold air intake that small little hole on the right hand side ? dayam thats not good.

so you get the part from ssv 300 cut / install the part then have the repaint the whole bonnet i guess.

was there any specific hiccups that caused it to take so long ?

Hickups ... yes... Joing FG to Steel ... is not good!

Do you know someone ho makes a FG bonnet to fit a Magna? .... I didnt think so.

Next time Ill be getting a proper origional bonnet from Mitsubishi ... EVO one that is.. and then "BuTchering" it. :D

would the evo bonnet be big enuff for the magna? Isn't that an illegal bonnet. I was talking to an inspector (who works with my dad) and any hole in the bonnet that isn't factory is naughty naughty and defectable.

The evo bonnet is to short and too narrow.
Im unsure about the "legal" Question.
