hye guys ive been loking on e-bay and they have "universal fuel pressure regulators" on there...

is there such thing as being a universal fpr?i thought they were made for each make/model??

if they do fit how much have u ppl paid to have them installed?is it something you can do yourself???how much to rpw charge for there's? this one on ebay is about $140+post

They can be fitted yourself - and the pressure regulator itself is sort of universal (from what I understand). The fuel rail in different cars however isn't universal. I would make sure you ask the seller about the fuel rail fitting (if one is even included - wouldn't surprise me if all he's supplying is the pressure reg for that price).

The RPW kit comes with everything you could possibly need to fit it (more than enough hose, connectors, hose clamps, bolts and the fuel rail fitting, also a pressure guage so it can be fine tuned). Also - from Dave's explaination of the product he sells - it is a 'modified' malpassi regulator designed for use in N/A applications.

unless there is fueling problems with your car a FPR wont affect much at all in a positive way.

they are only there to regulate pressure as their name implies

i have a malpassi because as rpm increase and the car was making power, i needed more pressure to keep the fueling upto task. mine is a rising rate

they will also increase throttle response, and are a great way to compliment a car with zorst, extractors, induction etc.

It will also help to lessen any holes or rough spots early on in the rpm , which is common to 3L's , because they are such a peaky engine

its not a fuel pressure regulator problem if your car is leaning out and needs higher pressure in the fuel system to compensate.

you know the car has a fuel pressure regulator as standard yeah?

You dont "add" a FPR it comes standard with the car :nuts:

the only advantage a aftermarket fpr will have on a standard car is you can have a gauge and a screw to adjust base pressure. not really necessary until big hp mods are done.

And no an exhaust and pod filter arent considered as big hp mods. If you had big cams upped compression bigger injectors ecu and other "performance work" done then you may need one.

But a complete waste any other time (turbo's excluded)

you cant have bigger injectors without having some sort of EMS unit, and with a EMS unit there is no need for a aftermarket FPR unless the standard unit is limiting flow or isn't rising rate.

fact of the matter is, there is very little to no use for these units unless specificaly designed motors need them. adding one to a stocko car will just increase injector flow linearly accross the range by a small margin, this being another part of the cars fault and shouldnt be quick fixed with a higher pressure fpr
