Would there be any benefit from mounting a pod like so... ?

If so how much gain? Or would it primarily be sucking in hot air and i'd be better off with a k&n panel filter?

well with the snorkel it would be better than some ive seen, but stilll not really ideal. i think u should buy one of ez boy's pod box, they should be available soon.

I noticed a marginal improvement going from std paper panel filter to pod mounted as pictured. Mostly it was alot more willing to rev once above 3500-4000rpm. The temperature of the air makes a difference to power in my opinion - I'm sure low end response was improved when I fitted CAI piping and mounted the pod low behind the front bumper.

I can't speak for how it compares to a K&N panel filter with either stock air snorkel - or DIY CAI piping to the air box. EZ boy's pod box kit definetly looks promising - I can vouch for the quality of his workmanship, so I'm confident he won't offer the kit to members til he's 100% happy with it.

Can anyone tell me what kind of K&N pod filter that is in the pic in the first post? Like a link to the product number or something? Thanks!

i think you should replace the standard filter with a new ryco paper element and leave it be.

cheaper and pods dont actualy make a noticable difference in power to stock engines
