I got a quote from my local exhaust centre for a 2.5" cat-back (mild steel, not mandrel so press bent i guess) with a resonater and a 2.5" magnaflow stainless steel muffler, with a 3" dumpy tip for $480 fitted. Just curoius if anyone thought that a little steep as ive read you can get mandrel bent systems for around that price???

Thanks in advance

pretty sure mild steel can be mandrel bent just fine. I'd call back and check if it's mandrel or press bent before making any assumptions about whether it is over priced or not.

Also consider the redback exhaust system you can buy on eBay which comes with most of that stuff and is almost bolt on.

don't forget tot ake into consideration that the magnaflow mufflers are rather expensive by themselves

yeah but did u pay for just a muffler fitted? or for a full cat back system ?

i ges it depends on what ur after aswell, if its just the ezhaust note then dont even bother bout a cat back system and put a lukey muffler on it will be quite cheap,

if performance if what u want pay the extra for quality

Redback bolt on system off ebay is $380 at the moment.
They are 2.5" mandrel bent all the way.

Add about $40 for freight and other $20 for gaskets.

You could do it yourself for that price.

i went to midas and said make it loud, i have $400, and they said ok. lol
i ended up with a 2.25" mandrel bent with, as my receipt says, 400mm sports muffler, and a resonator, with the s/s tip i wanted. i thought that was ok. and that is right on the 90db for qld noise restrictions :)

well i am gettin my new exhaust system done on friday..its a cat back sysem with resignator that splits into dual exhuasts for $150...included in that price they are gonna custom cut into my bar and make it look schmicko....

...i supplied the cannons(off ebay,,i bargained the guy to give me 2 cannons for $140)...

so i think im doing ok for that price...cat back exhaust with resignator, split into dual exhaust with them cutting into the rear bar for $150..i provide the cannons..$140..ohh i dont no weather its press bent or mandrel...id say press bent for that price

so the whole lot is $290...i think thats prob the best deal u will ever get..and no i dont know the guys doing the exhaust personally..ill post pics when its done

Mate, that quote you have, is bloody good !

Magnaflow mufflers are one of the best brands you can buy.

thats why the price may seem a little steap, but i say go for it, magnaflow produce a very nice sound !
Usually a good stainless magnaflow costs $300 supply only.
