as stated in my signature i have a TR GLX (Carby) and for a little while now its been doin something weird, and now it has gone past the "it'll fix itself" stage ...

when cruising at basically any speed, the car will make a small shudder, at the same time the revs will rise about 300-400 rpm and feels like its lacking a little power/go. And trust me, its not a gear change :P

anyone experience this before, or got any ideas on what this could be ??

thanks in advance

Try getting an auto tranny guy to have a feel of it. It could be your torque converter playing up. It usually doesnt cost anything for the guy to have a listen.

had a fiddle around in my engine bay today, and found that two of my spark plugs were a little loose, not completely falling off, just a couple/very few turns out. Could this be related ?

did a small drive after tightening them and the problem wasnt occuring, but as i said, it was only a small drive

Normally spark related problems are only noticed at ignition and the first hit of throttal. Dunno what else it could be but drive some more and see if it keeps happening. Check that your plug leads are secure and that your point are still healthy.

sounds like similar symptoms to spark plug/lead problems.

Try getting the plugs and maybe even the leads replaced. It may be one of those thats faulty and it only really happens every now and then. Happened to me a while back, figured out it was the leads. Replaced those and it was fine.

try that as an in-expensive test. If it doesnt work. then it may be more serious
