My 96TE needs new tires soon and the ones i had on there only lasted 25thousand k,

It has standerd steelies, keep in mind they dont need to be peformance tires as my dad has the car because i dont have a licence, so they need to be reasonably grippy, but the main factor is PRICE and LONG LASTING.

So can people please post, reasonably priced tyres, that last a long time.

CHeers.

I used to have RE92's on my commodore previously, before coming to the magna camp, and got close to 50,000 k's out of them, all depends on how your brake and accelerate, but they are a good tyre, especially when you get them on sale

hankook k102's or k104's for more grip
both tyres have a silicone compound so they have a comfortable ride and good feel
i work at Mag Wheel & Tyre (http://www.magwheel.com.au) and we sell hankook tyres more than any other brand as they are good value for money.
they are good for wet and dry weather.

I use RE92's never had a problem. Cheap as chips, and current ones are 20k km old and are yet to show any signs of wear.

Lol I am like you have 2 of them which are those. I kind of trust bridgestone more than other brands, but its up to you. Saw an ad some time ago for 4 tyre bridgestone package for $350+ or so that was a good deal.

Good year is alright sometime under a $100.00.

Wouldnt be your dad be the one changing those tyres?

Depends on what one wants from a tyre. RE92 will last for ever, is hard as and never provides good grip. But it's cheap - compared to really good tyres.
I dislike 92s with a passion my self.... :)

I have always put RE-92s on the car. I'm on road, of road and all over the shop. Wouldn't want to take those expensive performance tyres off road. Got 45 000 out of my last set of Bridgestone RE-92s (12 months driving).
