hey just a query with CAI is it possible do modify the existing snorkel bit so that instead of being jammed under the bonnet it can just get air from the front grill and just putting a new airfilter in instead of having to do piping all the way down to the under neath of the car and moving the MAF sensor. also is there any effect this has on insurance?

cant see why this would be so hard, and im pretty sure you would have to list this with insurance

much easier ways of doing this though dude

check out TH Smokers CAI kits.... FTW

try removing the plastic seal thing that stops air from reaching the snorkel through the grille. It's the bit that is held underneath the mouth of the snorkel and covers the grill cavity opening. It's identifyable as a grey piece of plastic that surrounds the bonnet latch and runs the length of the grille.

You dont need to move your mas, just move the inlet location of the cai to say the bottom of the bumper and forward facing, obviously.

EZ Boy , with that kind of set up , Your filter becomes a rock stopper and would be severely prone to sucking up water in puddles...

There is nothing wrong with the snorkel, you just have to remove the rubber Bonnet seal from in front of it..
The ram air effect will take effect from 60k's onwards...

I wanna see water get "sucked" up almost 2 feet of vertical pipe. As long as you dont mistake ur car for a boat i think you will be alright. Besides, cutting the rubber from the hood lets water is also, thats what it is there for.

Surely if one is worried about objects getting sucked up through the piping then some chicken wire would be good to stop 'deadly' objects

thanx for that was just wondering why everybody puts it down low under neath the car and not just put holes in the bottom of thhe stock one with a bit of plastic directing air into them
