im a holden fan but i am going towards buying a late 2003-2004 mitsubishi magna but dont really know much about the different models (like commodores and there acclaim calais ss) so i was wondering if someone could give me a quick run down on the different models the late 2003-2004 magna comes in.
Do a search, mate. The mitsubishi website can help you too.
Nah the easiest to find out details, photos and prices etc is here http://www.redbook.com.au/vehiclesearch/valuations4.asp?make=MITS&family=MAGNA&year=2004 or here http://www.carsales.com.au/pls/carsales/!cs_content.research_results?price_min=&price_max=&category_id=5&search_type=21&make_name=MITSUBISHI&model_name=MAGNA&selected_model=36&year_min=&year_max=&cs_trans_id=&keyword=&cs_segment_name=&BODY_NAME=&door_num=&seat_num=&engine_low=&engine_high=

depends if you're looking at a TJ or a TL/TW magna, becuase they changed the names of the models in the line up when they switched to the TL/TW's (ones with the boulay nose)
anyway:
TJ's that i can think of: Executive, Advance, Solara, Sports, Sports AWD, VR-X, Ralliart, Verada Ei, Verada Xi, Verada GTV, Verada GTVi, AWD, Verada AWD and limited editions such as V6si, Commonwealth Games Ltd. Ed., Limited Edition (Executive with leather seats etc etc) heck there's heaps of them!!
TL/TW's that i can think of: ES, LS, LS AWD, VR, VR Limited, VR AWD, VR-X, VR-X AWD, VR-X Limited Verada Ei, Verada Ei AWD, Verada Xi, Verada GTV, Verada GTVi AWD,, Solara, think thats bout it!!
hope that helps ya out!!

im under teh impression (having owned one) that the solara is like a commodore equipe, like a 2nd yearly exec with extra's?
you get like cruise, alloys etc etc, just a few little nicetys you pay extra for in execs :D

yeh the solaras came out every second year i beleive.. same deal as the commodore equipe or was it the Lumina? anywho.. just get a few extras with them, plus the solaras look good with the silver round teh bottom..
i would say comparison wise:
exec magna = exec commodore
solara = lumina or equipe
advance = berlina
?? = calais
verada ei = statesman
verada xi = caprice
VR = to like your SV6 i suppose or the S
VR-X = SS or SV8 (obviosly not as much power) top line "sports"
AWD = to ADVENTRA HAHAH jks
and theres no comparison to the ralliart in holden form lol :bowrofl:

i would say comparison wise:
exec magna = exec commodore
solara = lumina or equipe
advance = acclaim
verada ei = berlina
verada xi = calais
VR = holden doesnt really have a model to match this, the SV6 is more of a VRX then a VR
VR-X = so yeah this is a SV6
AWD = to ADVENTRA HAHAH jks
note my changes in blue, this is probably a fairer comparison in my opinion, mitsubishi doesnt have a statesman/caprice competitor and they obviously dont have an SV8 or SS competitor

yeah thats probably better.. hence there being no long wheel base magnas or veradas, although the veradas do have extended front and rear bars...lol

SS=Ralliart (they are the closest you will get, but doesnt really count as only one series)

I would say the Ei is eqivelant of the Calais with the Xi equivelant to a Calais with all the trimmings (oh, without the V8 lol )
The Statesman/Caprice is longer wheelbase amongst other things.
I think it would go a little something like this:
Magna Executive = Commodore executive
Magna Solara = Commodore Lumina
Magna Advance = Commodore Acclaim
Verada Ei = Berlina
Verada Xi = Calais
Magna VRX = Commodore SV6
Magna does not have a $50,000 V8 Sports sedan so we don't have an SS equivalent. There is also no long wheel base Mitsubishi so we can't have Statesman or Caprice in there at all.
I think these are the exact comparisons of cars, and you'll find size wise, power wise, features wise and price wise they're almost a perfect match.

Ahhh, but they did have a $50,000 V6 Sports Sedan that will at least shock a few SS drivers,

yeah they have the ralliart.. but realistically its still not a direct competitor to the SS.. the SS is a V8 sports sedan whereas the ralliart was a V6 sports sedan, they arent really direct competitors! someone wanting to buy an SS for example wants it for the V8 and as such wont consider a ralliart
