Well i have taken my Ralliart back to the Dyno place (due to lack of Kw's ATW) who dropped the exhuast off the motor and found similar power outputs as per earlier tests (116Kw). This means no problems with Cat or Muffler.

But what he did notice is a discrenpency between the timing setting between the ECU and the actual timing itself. Apparantly the ECU is telling the motor to use 10deg but the motor is still running 6deg which is likely the cause of the lower then normal power output.

Can any of your genius's provide a clue as to what this may be? A call to 2 dealers have only mentioned that it was a weird fault and not sure what they could do to fix it...

No idea... Would the ECU be reading crank angle incorrectly - as in, the sensor is bit faulty? :doubt:

Apparantly it is working properly however it is out of whack. After more digging around i have 3 options :

1)Pay to have the crank angle sensor moved slighlty (a huge job as it's not adjustable)
2)Find a MMAL engineer who can flash the ECU (lucky i know some)
3)Install aftermarket ECU (Unichip)

So the easiest option would be to install a Unichip. I have never been happy with the power of my car and now i know why (it's actually 4deg out). So Mitsubishi does it again. More shit products but as they say "Better Built, Better Backed" (my arse)

Dealers are distancing themselves from the problem as they simply do not know how to fix it. Then again why aren't i not surprised...

NO MORE Mitsubishi vehicles for me... period.

if you can flash the ecu your a smart man. They cannot be flashed otherwise ppl would be flash tuning rather than piggybacking. I have tried a flash and its no go

Ya can reflash TH model ECU's only BUT ya need the factory mitsi security access codes cracked and only MMAL (and me) have those cracked codes. Oh and when ya do reflash it ya lose the factory immobiliser but the alarm part still works.

Now stay away from my car all u thieves lol , i have fitted a triple immobiliser to make up for the loss of my factory one. :D
