Has anyone got a manual on how to install a mitsubishi towbar on a TL. I got one for free but no instructions so if anyone can help that would be great. It looks like the rear bumper need to come out ect. bit of a big job.

I had a towbar fitted to my TH, and it required the whole bumper bar to come off.

i would suggest take the car to your nearest tow bar place and ask them to install it, will save you alot of hassle and wont cost you that much, my parents where in the exact same situation with their nissan xtrail, took it to the local tow bar place and they did it for 20 buks! bargain

I have fitted a towbar to my TL but have thrown away my instructions - sorry!!

It was a hayman reece towbar and DID NOT require the rear bar to come off, only to drop the muffler down about 4 inches but removing the three rubber mounts.

It's a bit tricky but worth the money you save.

$20 to fit a towbar - sif :gtfo:

My Towbar is a Mitsubishi genuine item. I got it for free. From what i can see it is atahced through two bolts that go into the spear tire well and the twop sides get bolted into the rear subframe, but i think the bolts go inside the subframe as they have this funny spring to hold them inplace ina square tube. I'll figure it out someday.

You are correct in saying it bolts into the subframe.

You need longer bolts though (they came supplied with my towbar) to get it to fit.
