Hey everyone i'v recently purchased some alpine type-s splits and am unsure of how to wire them up correctly.

On the crossover, it says woofer(which im assuming you plug the speaker wires into), then tweeter (tweeter wires for this one), then amp (which im assuming is wiring coming from the HU ? )

Since i don't have an amp, do i have to find some wires from the HU that go into this "amp"
position ? If so, would anyone know which wires these are on a 3rd gen ? Also can anyone recommend a method for accessing these wires?

cheers, for any replies

use the wires for the stock speakers- easy, cheap and quick.

Black = -ve, white = +ve. The blue and red stripes are just for left and right side identification.

I.E. Black with blue stripe = negative wire on left side... you get the idea.

Wire these into the 'in' or 'amp' inputs of the crossover then wire the 6' woofer into the 'woofer' inputs of the xover and the tweet into the 'tweet' inputs of the xover.

It should be described by a wiring diagram on the box... its pretty easy but takes a while just to make sure the speakers are all in phase and wired and installed correctly.

oh i c, so you take the two wires going to the stock frontspeakers, and use them as input ?

then just get some speaker wires and attach the woofer, to the crossover woofer part, and the tweeter to the tweeter part etc.

cheers for that,

now i just have to get down to bunnings and hopefully get someone to cut me some wood !
