I recently brought a 91 TR magna, executive and it is a great car, except that on idle and driving sometime the engine revs very erracitcally, then will go back to normal. Has anyone had this problem or heard of it before?

On our TR we had a similar problem - the engine would like almost stall and you would have to rev it up and it would just run rough - plus the check engine light would illuminate - go to your local library and look up a service manual, get the error code from the computer and start to troubleshoot it... Ours was the barometric pressure sensor wiring was dicky.. once this was fixed problem solvered!

it sounds like a vacuum issue - maybe one of the vacuum lines has a hole in it or else like guru said - it could be the wiring to an air pressure sensor - such as the barometric.

I brought a magna manual, and did the engine test, and it gave a code for the throttle position sensor, so went to the wreckers and got one, now it runs perfectly....
