Hi, Has anyone had experience with a unichip on a Magna AWD Sports. I currently own a 2003 model and have been speaking to various people with conflicting info with respect to improvements. Some have quotes from 5kw to 18kw and 10 - 45nm improvement. Huge range. The truth lies I guess somewhere in the middle. I understand that it will vary with each car, so I would love to hear from people that have had first hand experience. Steve

The gain would depend on what, if any mods you have. I will be going down this road too soon just as soon as I get my extractors. On my old TE with pod/CAI, TB, exhaust I picked up 12kw ATW. Mid range was also much better and fuel consumption went down. If you go ahead post up the results theres a few AWDrivers that would like to see a result.

Hey, I got a TJ awd with K&N filter, 2.5inch exhaust with highflow cat and a trans cooler. The unichip gave me 9kw and 26Nm ATW. made the car more eager to be driven. Im happy with the investment.

Did fuel consumption go up or down after?

Ignore the 'peak power' gains that make for great pub stories. The fact is that the unichip and other piggybacks and aftermarket ecu's DO make a difference. They can also be retuned to optimise new mods you do.
The maps are adjusted to provide better fuel economy at cruise and improved fueling ratios when under load to provide power throughout the rev range.
Remember that the Magna has a 'deadspot' programmed deliberately to make it emissions friendly at the ADR test rev location. This can be removed with the unichip (for eg) and smooth crisp power can be delivered right thru.
I've spoken to a LOT of people about this and it's my next big money blow. I highly recommend making it yours too!

Thanks Guys,
My Magna AWD Sports is stock standard - cough cough -
I will proceed with the unichip in the next couple of weeks and post the results. I'm more interested in gaining increased torque for towing and not peak power performance.
The bottom line is not to expect a huge difference but at least enough of a change that will make the car more driveable.
I'll post the before and after results of the Dyno when the installation has been completed.
I'm looking at having it done at a place in Silverwater $1250 - ouch..
I'm assuming the fuel consumption will improve - I hope.
