Ive bought a 8inch drop down... if i had known the 13"s werent that much dearer i would have bought that instead... oh well what can you do.

Im also buying 2 headrest mount 7 or 8 inch monitors for the passengers and hooking them all upto my moded PS2.

My question is... what do you plug all the TV inputs into? Is there a particular type of prebox which has a single output and multiple inputs that i can buy? or should i just stop being a lazy tard and go to DE or Jaycar and buy all the crap and make my own?

What's a road theatre set up to you? Is it the full 5.1 Dolby surround sound or just a good general SQ system? Because yeah, I wouldn't put monitors in a car too if it still had OEM cardboard cone speakers :doubt: :)

By the way inark, what are you trying to say? Did you want your PS2 to output to all your monitors? I would just use an RCA splitter. Although don't go too overboard with screens and splitters, because it will start to dampen the signal.

You'd want some sort of flexible switching box so you can say TV1 take feed from PS2 TV2 take feed from GPS TV3 Take feed from CarPC or something like that. Why you'd need one TV little own 3 TV's in a car is beyond me but anyway.

 Oh, is that what he's talking about then. Well if that's the case, forget my earlier message and go to Jaycar for that sort of stuff.

I think so, not sure. He may want to just send the same signal to all monitors, how ever some sort of junction box would be more versitile. But if the latter is all he wants then yeah just use RCA spliters.

idea  how about u go for a quick drive down your local car audio retailer and ask i can almost certanly say they will have the answer your looking for i had the same problem when connecting the indash screen to the head rest screens they set me up with a expansion module but if ur screens arn't touch control it may be a little eaiser and cheaper than that
have fun!!!!!! :D

lmao

sorry i always have issues explaining myself :D

i just wanted to be able to send the signal to all 3 monitors.

altho now i think about it i might put another PS2 in so i can split player 1 and player 2 up so they can play against each other on different screens in the back.

most headrest screens come with a modulater box which has av 1 and av 2 in and video out..
this would be ur best bet.
necvox make a decent and affordable headrest screen.
but i had an xbox in my car for 4 months and never used it once. not even when i had ppl in the car. all i really use my tvs for is to watch video clips.. and its good for the pimp factor.

The box you are referring to is a

MULTI VIDEO AMPLIFIER.

It will take a signal from 1-4 sources and amplify the signal to 1-4 Monitors with out any power loss or interference from one monitor to the other.

Autobarn have these units, you can check it out at www.neltronics.com.au

normally about 129 - 149. RRP

thats the one!

i'll have a look on ebay... should be cheaper than autobarn

I mean I don't understand the point of having a TV in the car when you spend most of the time driving it and most have to be wired up to the Handbrake in order to use it.

If it was a Clarion or Alpine Indash TV that Doubled as a Headunit then yeah they are cool.
I just don't like the ones that are a TV that stick out like a Sore thumb

I would also imagine it would be rather annoying to have rear screen TV's with the sound comming from the Sound system, Just imagine it, the explosions, the Police Sirens and all..
Distracting as hell...

If Rear screens and Headphones were used then yeah, TV's are cool..

A Road theatre setups look awesome
Front Mounted TV, Dolby processors and time delay, Comfy Seats front and back and High SQ Speakers that literally turn the Car into a " Cinema"... Something to use in Peak Traffic in Sydney..

my gf has a disabled sister and she takes her on trips around melbourne and she tends to get bored in the back so the screens are there to keep her entertained...

ive had a TV in the soarer which came in handy when stuck in traffic or when going to watch someone play cricket on a saturday (ie me) and shes generally bored out of her brains.

I also do a lot of travelling to drift events interstate... so once again its always good to have sopmething to do in the car when your on a long trip

Then yeah I would look at getting rear seat TV's and a Cordless headphone set up then...
Its nice to actually hear someone modding their ride for someone elses benefit.. not just their own.. ;)

i was going to get a right hand side visor only monitor and hook it up to 2 cameras... one on the parcel shelf and one on the bootlid looking down towards the rear bumper. whats such a nuisance about them?

they are too close to your face
and if ya stick them out to the side to stop the sun glare....people can see that you have tv's
