View Full Version : Smoked Tail-lights----Help?
I was just wondering, the peeps with smoekd tail-lights.
Did you guys get it sprayed with paint and (lacquer) <---sp?
Was this a home job or did u go to a place and get it done.
Also, this may be a silly question, but, ill throw it out anywayz.....Would it be posible to smoke out your tail-lights using Window tinting film? Like sticking it on?
Can that be done? Or is that a no-no?

Window tinting Film is a Failure.. Done it and it no worky due to the Curves of the Lights..
Where would I find this "shades" paint thingy?
So window tint wont work? I would assume it would just stick to the light, even though the lights are weirdly shaped, that with the heat gun, it should mould into place??

called "Night Shades"... try Autobarn or other Auto shops. This has been covered many times... try doing a search and don't forget to weigh up the legalities before doing it first ;)
I tried doing a search, yet to no avail....nothing comes up...
Anywayz thanks for the replies....

If you spray your tail lights with "Night Shades" yes it is illegal. On the can it says "For Off Road Use Only".
I have done mine, i went a bit to dark but haven't been bothered by the cops.

knowing my car is already black I dont want to get into trouble with my insurance. lol
Now where are those proper Altezza lights for TE-TH range. Wish they put in more effort in those lights. tinting the lights may look very cool in some cars but I think I wont want to risk night rider for my car.

If you own a TJ-TL there are two other more expensive options you might like to consider.
TL VR-X tail lamps. (These are tinted darker than normal lamps and will also fit a TJ) (http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10290)
OR
TJ-TL Altezza Style Carbon Fibre Tail Lamps. (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4577767289&fromMakeTrack=true)
