Hey everyone i was wondering what the name of the connection you need to hook your ipod to your headunits called. I dont want a trendy gay Apple brand connector but i know u can somehow connect your ipod to your headunit using your headphone out thing. Does anyone know the name of the thing you need? is it called Aux like on a stereo?

3.5mm into 2 stereo RCA connection cable. (Provided your head unit has RCA aux-in).

No

Some have aux in at the front via 3.5mm minijack (headphone socket)
Others have it through the back via RCA
Most that have a cd changer adapter (pioneer jvc alpine etc) u can buy an adapter for $70-$90)

Tape decks you can buy dodgy tape -> minijack adapters

FM modulator costs around $70 but quality is fm quality

Many options... Easiest is finding a deck with rca aux in at the back

Peace

Any GOOD aftermarket headunit should have RCA aux inputs. Most Factory ones Do Not.

yeah im planning on getting a pretty good aftermarket, any brands/models you reccomend that has enough power to run a few speakers with the ability to add extra stuff later (sub, amp etc) that can play mp3's and a remote is really and unnecessary extra. Im looking at not spending over 400 but im pretty sure i could get a good one under that wouldnt i?
