View Full Version : Ts Muffler
Just wondering if any one can tell me if the rear muffler off a 4cyl ts magna is exactly the same muffler as the 6cyl version. Dont know iff the 6cyl one is slightly bigger. Can get good 4cyl one from wreckers but dont know if it will fit my v6. Any help appreciated. Buzz.

I'm not sure on muffler sizes, but i can tell you that the piping on a v6 is 2.25 inch compared to 2 inch of the 4 cylinder, so i'm guessing that the different engines will have different inlet sizes, could me modified to fit but you may find you get abit of restriction in the muffler.

After market part numbers are the same so if you go after market or s hand you will end up with the same thing.
You will also note that there is an extra resinator on the v6 models, some people get the whole system from cat back and put this on the v6.
Hi there, I am quite sure that the rear muffler on the TR/TS Magnas/Veradas are common to all models, 2.6 and V6.
I had to get a new muffler on my KS Verada and the guy at the muffler shop told me that the mufflers are exactly the same.
However I do believe that the piping is slightly wider on the V6's.
Hope this helps

Newb question but if the piping is wider on the v6, how is the muffler interchangable?
Is the piping inside the muffler 2.25inch and just goes to 2inch when it meets the 4 banger piping and just stays as 2.25inch when it meets the v6 piping?
I know both outlets are the same and redback's model numbers are identical for 4 and v6.

How much is the muffler from the wreckers? Might it be more cost friendly to buy brand new?
Thanks for your reply's .Have picked up muffler today, seems to be same as verada one. Cost was $40 in good nic. Buzz.

Think about it for a second. .25 if an inch over the radius of a peice of pipe will give a bees dick of overlap. In other words, there will be a small step but given you do not have factory mandrels, headers, high flow cat etc I would chalange you to tell the difference.....
