My 97 TF wagon is making an occasional knock type noise from the drivers rear. I replaced the rear shocks recntly and the noise went now it has come back but only very quietly and not as often. Seems to be when the weight is tranfered in cornering. I don't do any fast cornering.
Any one have any ideas?

Yeh brand new. The same as new. Only 2 weeks ago.
I may have to take it pedders. Everthing feels tight under the car and when I push the back of the car down it is quiet. Could it be sway bar?

I have a 98 TF wagon and when I brake hard (only just before stopping so weight shifts forward fast) I hear a bit of a crunching sound. I can't put enough weight in the front of the car to reinact what happens so I cant tell if it's just worn brake pads, the springs or the shocks... or a combination.

Does this sound simmilar? I'm taking my car in for a service sometime real soon so I'm sure they'll be able to tell me whats happening. I have a feeling it's just really worn pads but I'll post when I find out.

I hope it's springs so I have an excuse to buy lows :D

check your cv joints mate

Wouldn't CV noise come from the front end?

If you have an aftermarket swaybar check that it is all nice and tight...

Had a good look under the car last night. The noise seems to be coming from the bar running across the car. It joins from the lower passenger suspension to the upper drivers. Is this a torsion bar?
Maybe the bushes are on the way out.

Danstraz, what you have sounds different as my problem doesn't happen during braking.
