Hey all.. my front drivers side electric window motor died in the ass and the cable was frayed a while ago.
Was wondering.. would the rear drivers side electric window setup would be able to go into the front setup?!

just to add a bit on to that query...
Can someone please list the components required to do an electric window conversion?
Is there a kit you can buy?
Cheers,
Danno

I've getting my rear window regulator replaced due to parts failure. The parts no. order specifies rear door, so I guess they are different?
Their not cheap either - seach the forums for window regulators.

I've owned numerous cars with elec windows - and on none of them were the asseblies interchangeable...... i'd presume the magnas are the same.
As for a conversion......... (presuming all doors have the mount points) you'd need to replace all 4 outer skins and purchase 4 power window assemblies. In my experience (fords - havent had to replace them on my magna *touches wood*) Genuine units retail for $250 - $300 each. Then you'd just need misc. fasteners.
My advise to anyone considering it - get down to a wreckers who've recently received a late model magna with power windows, pull the doors apart and make sure the door has the same framework under the outerskin - paying particular attention to where the p/w assembly mounts within the door.

yeah, mine is about to **** itself too. I dunno whether its the motor or jus that there is alot of friction on the window somewhere and wont let it go up and down easily. most of the time i have to have the car running to put the window up all the way as it hits a sticky point about half way and jus stops if the motor isnt running, sometimes i even have to resort to pulling the window up with my hand to help it along!!!
What can we do to fix this??

The cable on my drivers side power window frayed and snaped too. Unfortunatly they're not interchangable with the rear ones, and you can't buy the parts individually. Retail for a genuine mitsubishi one was around $230 unfortunatly.

ok....I am convinced not to do a conversion lol.
Rather spend money on new rims.

Outer door skins???? hmmm
You need the regs, the wiring, the switches and panels, the inner door trims.
I believe the te onwards has the internal car wiring to simply plug the door harness in, put a fuse in and you are up and running.
