Hi people.. Once again trying to find answers..

I have had my brakes replaced on the weekend and yes they needed doing but not as bad as i thought still had meat on pads. But at least i no i can stop safely now..

My only concerns now are that the still squeal and they are smoking as well.. Is this normal and for how long does this last..

if your doing extended hard braking on an executive magna brake, then yes, this is normal, they suck... pure & simple

they will actually glow red after a short downhill twisties sprint, most of sa amc will back me on that one..

(no offence to executive brake lovers)

the base model magna's...

just looked in your profile and saw you had a 2nd gen, so im guessing your brakes would be equal or less even (no offence again) to a third gen executive (TE-TJ) because they are shiat brakes...

fine for normal driving though, and if they are smoking from normal driving, you have a problem

if they are smoking after a quick hills sprint & some hard braking, this is normal, expect them to glow bright orange :D

hmmm no offence taken either, what do you recommend I should do for the TE's breaks if I want to do a change? Just want to see my options regarding breaks.

cheers!

i dont know if they would fit, but if you were on a budget then get the Ralliart/ AWD brakes...

they stop REAL fookin quick, dont get that hot, and dont seem to fade at all

the longevity is good aswell, still on origional brakes after some "spirited" driving at 45000k's

:D
(dont ask me prices, i dont know :P)

If you can find a wrecked Ralliart or AWD grab the front brakes off of them. Both have larger diameter front rotors. Rears from the Ralliart should bolt on to the TE but AWD rear brakes won't.

RPW sell a twin piston calliper upgrade kit for standard diameter rotors, as well as twin pot upgrade to 296mm front discs (from 276mm stock).

You can also just look at EBC/RDA slotted rotors and new pads..

If you go to the larger diameter disc, won't you then need to up your wheel diameter from the standard 15"?
