Hi everyone!

Recently I have very unpleasant experience. My son was installing new MP3 player in Verada 97. This car has weak battery and during testing battery completely died. As a result I have SRS light continuously lit. I have try everything – disconnect battery (for as long as overnight), disconnect all airbags, even remove and open SRS unit in hope that there is small battery inside. Nothing helps – SRS light was still lit. It finished with trip to mitsu dealer. They plug their f***** MUT and reset code. 2 minutes job, 10 minutes speech (from their side) about importance that safety features been serviced only by “highly trained” stuff and 44 bucks at the end. I get really pissed. This computers inside car not really complicated stuff at all (I am computer programmer) and it is not difficult at all to write a program, which allow any laptop owner became “highly trained” person. I could happily do this and share this program with anyone interested. Problem is – I can’t find out description of communication protocol and list of those stupid codes. Anyone can help?

Highly guarded scret by mitsu...

Local mitsi dealer also now knows not to lecture me. Tried the whole "highly trained staff" bullisht routine, and I pointed out that their highly trained staff consistently fail to know what is wrong with the car, most of the time I find the solution in their manual or take it to someone else who finds it, and then get them to fix it.

Cheers

It isnt for your model but look at http://mmcd.sourceforge.net
I am going to have a look at writing some software for 1st gens in the near future also.
If I had a 3rd gen I would help you with the software myself :)

Same thing here only a few weeks back. The immobiliser in the Verada crapped it. After 2.5 hours here with a MUT he told me he couldnt find anything wrong.

In half an hour I had the problem fixed.
