Hi. My TH Advance is due for its 105,000 km service and timing belt change. Could anyone suggest how much this should cost? So far I have had quotes of $980 from Eastern Mitsubishi (Nunawading, in Melbourne's eastern suburbs) and around $1200 from my local garage. I have not had the car long and don't really know a good mechanic locally - any ideas in Blackburn or nearby?

Thanks,
Ross

I was quoted $1050 here in perth by a mitsu dealer for a 90k and 105k combined.
Inc platinum plugs in rear bank, timing belt, trans/cool/brake/oil/fuel fluids check flush and replace filters, air filter and general service.

Was quoted about $640 just for 105k service inc plugs, trans fluid flush, brake fluid flush and timing belt.

I think either they are doing something in addition to the std 105k service or they're playing you...

Ask whats included and write it all down so you can compare a few shops.

Hi BSOD, I live in Ringwood and Auto Brake Service or ABS did the following on my KH Verada Wagon at 140000 KMS.

Replaced timing belt, fan belt and AC belt,
Fuel filter, Oil filter, and fuel filter,
Replaced all sparks plugs including the expensive ones.
Replaced diff oil , Engine oil
Serviced Auto Transmission
fixed minor oil leak, replaced wiper blades, etc.....$990.00 with a loan car to drive.
nice guys, and car runs fine.

Just to give you some idea of the cost! there are a million workshops in Ringwood worth ringing around first! :) Good Luck.

I saw some cheap qoutes on 100K service ...I'll try and hunt up the post for you.

...............and here it is http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=24984&page=2&pp=10

at the very end of the post they talk about lubemobile don't know if you have them in Vic but any of the major workshops (maybe K-Mart even) might qoute cheaper.

Let us know how you go.

We were quoted > $1000 for the Verada (KS 200k service).
It involved timing belt, full service, tranny service.
Then again, this was by the same clowns (local Mitsu dealer) who couldnt use a MUT-II and couldnt find anything wrong with the immobiliser other than "I dont think it is working"

Hi again. Now for the "after" report.

On a suggestion from a neighbour, I contacted Gown-Hindaugh on Middleborough Rd in Box Hill South. They are VACC, RACV and Repco authorised, which gave me some confidence. Their quote (which was accurate) was $650 for timing belt and 105K service. Friendly and helpful service (even washed the car). So far all seems fine, but I only picked up the car last night.
