1 I hope that the vinyl is not the finished product.if it is you need to redo it
2 I like the speaker placment
3 the colours are bad. IMHO if you are going to go with the yellow theme change the sliver to black
I'd give it a 5/10

Yellow - not such a good color.
but however like many people here i think the speaker positioning is pretty good myself.
its different yes but unless your going to do the WHOLE interior yellow it might look a lil wierd.
but its good to see something different!
nice placement of the speakers

Hey all,
Thanks for the comments.
Yes, the vinyl is done but I did a quick practice job. As the Magna door trim is such a complex shape it was a bit hard to get all wrinkles out (don't mind them, gives it a retrim appearance, not just a spray appearance).
I am going to do the drivers door soon and try to get less wrinkles/loose bits.
Also I like the yellow colour vinyl, I think it goes with my blue Magna.
Also I also thought the speakers placement was a good place to put ém.
Thanks again,

Dunno if you have access to it...but vacuum forming is the way to go for retrimming your doors.

While I respect your attempt I think it looks awful....sorry mate, but the quality is below sub standard and the silver/yellow???

nah im not a fan... rice-spec to the max, having the speakers there is not good either, they'll be sitting up against the seat...good if door is open....
my 2c
ps anyone know how much it is for pro interior jobbies...ie paint for dash and door trims and leather door inserts

Hey,
Retrimming prices in vinyl is as follows:
Seats - $2000 give or take $200.
Doors - $100 each.

Painted Dash - $150 (not including removal/installation)

all you need is a set of AXS seat covers to match.

sorry dude that is not cool
a) the wrinkles look terrible and cheap
b) speakers will sound like crap, they will be firing into the seats, losing all of your mids, so sq will be a big fat 0
c) the yellow isnt the worst thing inthe world, but yellow and silver isnt cool, and yellow and blue dont go together...
sorry for the negitive feedback, but i hope you use it as a positive..

i dont mind it, but i think it would look better if you repainted the silver bits black, and get rid of the map pocket and move the speakers up that end and get like a hairdryer/heat gun on to the riples and try and smooth them out it might just be best to rip the vynal off to where the wrinkles are and reglue then get the head gun on b4 the glue drys

Good atempt at doing something DIFFERENT - for that alone you deserve points.
Yeah, the door would be very hard to trim all over like that without wrinkles.
Maybe - if you can't beat them, join them.
Try doing it again but create wrinkles all over.
A bit like my 'factory' leather trim (see photos).
I actually don't mind the yellow - but it can be a bit of a hard colour to match as there are so many different yellow's on aftermarket things such as gear knobs. Some are more mustard and some are more gold.
Do what you like - then post it all up for us to see.

I rekon the yellow is awesome but the silver kills the effect a little. Go black and on the next door spend a week getting it all down without the wrinkles. Good on ya for giving something new a go but. A+ for balls.

Hey,
Thanks guys.
I was thinking of creating a wrinkle affect as the photo but there would still be some wrinkles around so I though stuff it.
I really don't mind the wrinkles, I just want it different than the stock interior.
I was trying to get a chrome affect but came out more silvery. I have seen chrome with silver interior and I think it looked sick, so yeah I am trying to get it chrome.
Thanks again guys for the comments/suggestions.

You can get full leather retrim seats for $700
As for how it looks....
...Looks really cheap, unprofessional, if you just took a little more time you could get it looking so much better.

yeah id definatly try and iron out thosw wrinkes asap they detract from the overall look
I like the yellow, I like the speakers.
The wrinkles however, make it look like your door has flaps.

sorry dude, but that quite frankly looks like sh|t.
see my post about interiors for a little more info.
it is a great idea.....but.........looks like you need to tighten the material and hold it down with lincraft glue......also with the silver on the bottom and the style of these doors you need a contrasting colour to go down the bottom and maybe on the protruding bits near the handle...black would look great. With all that done it would look so good and out there. looks good now but unfinished. sorry to be so harsh but im a chick and very into fashion ect so im so picky.

Speaker placement is bad. Drivers side will be too close to your ears and the seats will block it out. But brownie points for getting 2 drivers in the doors.
Quality of the trim is painful. If you cant get creases out u need to put a stitchline on certain curves
But points for effort. I'm sure you'll do a lot better next time.
I hope.
