OK so i was in repco today looking at some form of lighting... just for sumthing a lil different cuz it gets boring when we are all parked up at night :P

so i bought a set of 2 strobes with ciggy lighter plug.

and a 12" Subwoofer neon with sound sensative rar rar rar with ciggy lighter plug too.

Hooked the strobes up in the footwells and hid the wire etc etc

Hooked the neon up through to the boot from the centre console under my seat, under the rear right passenger door scuff (with the rest of the wiring), under the seat and into the boot.

I want to get them hooked up to the battery so i dont need to run one at a time.
Iam worried about running a multi ciggy adapter because i know im going to blow fuses and its not attractive. I want to get them hooked up to a few switches and hopefully hooked up to the battery.

Can you give me any other advice as to what i should do here as im really stuck in a puddle of ****. Should i take it to an auto electritian to get him to do it all for me?... what would i be roughly looking at in terms of cost with an auto elec?. Id need to run longer cables, switches off the wiring and hiding the rest of the cable too.

thanks in advance

whua? its nealy 8am, i've had about 5 hrs sleep yeserday and just spent 30mins on a bus..and now i'm at uni.

im assuming u are trying to wire a neone all the way from yoru ciggie lighter to ur boot?? WHy don't u wire it up to your boot light instead. Snip the wires to ur boot light, and join them up to ur neon. If you're paranoid, use relay (been covered 1000 times on how to connect one)

U also want a switch to the front i guess? Just run lots of wiring to a switch, very straight forward....even easier with a relay. You're worried about multi-headed ciggie plug things? Don't use them. Just snip ur wires and join them up. Fuse them all together, lol :D

anyways, time for 2 hrs of hydraulics engnieering!

the remote wire is 5mA! dont use it your stuff your head unit! its only there to trigger the amps inbuilt relay, not power devices.

to be honest... i dont trust myself enough to do it...no matter how easy it is. Me and electricty dont go together.

Id prefer the job to be done properly.

yeh well the position is well paid because its high risk.

you wouldnt be paid that much if u didnt know wtf you were doing.

im sure if u wired something wrong and the device blew up/caught fire. that $75 would soon turn into a massive debt

i have a neon in my boot which i wired up to my boot light which was simple as and i have four neons hooked up to a switch which is running of the cigearet lighter wires behind the console and i only blew one fuse in the process and it works fine. the only reason i blew a fuse is coz i didn't disconnect the battery. doesn't matter bout fuses anyway if they blow it, replace it. i also threw in an in line fuse between the ciggerate lighter wire connection and my switch to de doubley safe.

I fyou use the remote wire 5ma then you could use this to switch a relay to drive the lights ie just like driving lights. And yes I know what I am talking about as I am a electrician ( not auto)
