Friends have a 95 2.6litre Auto Executive and it stalls when they put it into drive or Reverse and Turn the Steering wheel to full lock.. What Controls the Idle on them ??

Any Idea's on a Solution or known problems???
I saw evidence of Carbon Build up on the heat shield, would a Cracked Exhuast Manifold cause this Trouble??

idle air speed control motor. you can get a 4 cyl one or modify a V6 to fit form a wreckers, its a expensive part to buy new i think. but first try some carby cleaner and get that exhaust fixed.

yeah carby cleaner on the throttle body etc, it stopped my car from stalling, for 10 bucks its worth a shot. PS carby cleaner is a very good degreaser.

Good chance it is the idle speed control motor (ISCM) or your base idle may be set a little low.

To check if the ISCM is working put the car in park and take note of the idle speed. Turn on the air conditioning and you should see a increase in the idle. If there is no increase in idle speed or the idle speed drops then you either have a problem with the ISCM or the engine computer (ECU).

If the idle speed increases then the ISCM is working and your base idle may be set to low.
