Well, I just got back from the dealer then after hvaing a quick test drive. I must say, it's a nice car to drive! Everythign feels very solid and well made, id did feel like i was sitting in a truck though, hah, the seatsing is sohigh compared to my car.. migth be due to lowering :P
The VRX's ass looks sexy in black, the GT loked good too, but it was only in silver and din't really do it for me as much. Very comfy to sit in, very responsive driving aswell, and really quiet engie (wheather that's a godo or bad thing i havnt decided yet?) The girl i was talking to said it does about 10l/100km on fuel, which seems ok, but nothign revolutionary, however apparently their emitions are?
Although it's a mile ahead of the TW, and marginly better than the current ford and commodores, i'm not that it has THAT much more to really pull sales away from ford and holden, but I do think it'll keep mitsubishi in business. It's definatly a great start, I can't wait for series 2!
I've got my hopes on a 290kw V8 AWD GT :D :D

Ive just gone in a spin in a VRX auto today, im very impressed with it apart form the fact that it was an auto. Very quiet, smooth and torquey. had 5km on the clock when drove it out of yard. Changed drivers down the road, could still smell all the seals wearing in for the first time. Dealer said hes had a really good response with sales, would love one, but just cant afford it at the moment. Hopefully i'll start a new job soon, so maybe then. But in short, a top car, hope mitis does well with it

Well apparently i was the first official test driver in Tassie! yaay! got to give it a fair hammering over a 40 minute drive... bloody nice except i felt the interior seemed rather cheap ... mind you i was only driving the '380' also had a quick look at the VRX and GT they look soo nice in the red and electric blue - if you havent driven one yet - GO DO IT!!! apparently there arent very many manuals about at the moment tho ... dammit!

Had a look at the full range yesterday, didn't drive one cause I would have bought it  .
A VRX left while I was there and it does have a very nice exhaust note.
The engine has coil over plugs no more dissy and an ECU in the engine bay, the air intake similar to Magna but there is 2 holes in the bonnet and a shrouded hole around the bonnet lock, looks like the air comes thru the grille up past lock and down the 2 holes into the air intake.
Anyway I LOVE the car.

yeah, took a GT for a drive, a beautiful car to drive even though it does sit high.
It was so funny, I stopped in to have a look inside the 380, and the guy kept hassling me to take a drive. He was keener than I was! :bowrofl:
Took it for a strap down kingsford smith drive. It's got some nice pick up whilst on the move, didn't drop it back a gear, just floored it. Better than I expected. Don't like the dash, horrible stereo/ air con set up, but all new cars are the same.

In short, It's okay, but I won't be trading in my baby in the near future.

i have been a bit negative about the car but everyone who drives it loves it, so i guess i'll wait a few months before i make a judgement on it.

I was offered a drive this morning (Saturday) but said no. Boy, what a dope!
I tend to buy on impulse. If l see something l like and l can afford it....I buy it.
Would rather wait until the new year. Just one minor complaint....the boot seems
a bit small. I know it's just on 7% smaller in volume than the Magna/Verada but it
seems a lot smaller. It might be just that the aperture is smaller?

After testing the VRX today I must say the ride is heaps better than the TW VRX's, and the motor just pulls to the redline. It is quicker than the TW VRX but doesn't feel it. The missus also drove it and at one point asked what the beeping was, I pointed to the speed warning light & then to the speedo pointing at 130. Car was so quiet and smooth she didn't realise we were going so fast.

I could only really say 1 thing to the dealer, "I want this in an AWD or I want that engine & gerbox put into my AWD!" :D

Might also point out to the doubters that the QBN dealers have sold most of their stock already, including the VRX & GT. The dealer principal said they've sold more 380's in 3 days than they sold TW's this (financial) year. They asked about the possibility of an AWD and/or Ralliart 380 at the dealer release. The answers were AWD = No, Ralliart = 'no answer'.

Weve had an LX for the week. Its been a great car. Its so smooth and quiet. The ride is sporty without being intrusive. Brakes are excellent. Has excellent traction even with TCL turned off. Heaps of room in the car.

I still hate the look of the steering wheel, but the audio controls on the back of it work great when your driving.

im still yet to see one in the flesh, let alone drive one lol

Got a letter from my local Mitsu dealer inviting me to book a test drive, but from what i hear there is hardly any manuals around, and thats the only version i would be interested in test driving...

callaghan mitsubishi in w'bool have a "380 gt" demo. got a test drive frid morn with the salesman, we took it to some "twisties" north of warrnambool. let me say it handles BETTER than my tl vrx even tho the GT doesnt have lowered suspension. asked about economy, he checked trip comp, it said "total 200km - average lt was 11.5" not bad i thought considering we done a good 50 km belting it along. note: the 200km was since it has been registered & including my small drive.

as for the centre consol (audio & climate controls). i have a copy of the brochure. it says there is an option for sat nav which includes the same centre consol from the base "380" which is the double din appature to house the double din sat nav.
i would amagine this consol could be ordered thru spare parts at dealerships for anyone who wants their own audio system.

i have a 24 hours test drive booked for the start of november, sounds good so far, if so i'll part with the TJ and step up to the 380 VR-X maunal, already lowered with bigger wheels on her.

it amazes me you know, all these people considering selling their current cars and taking out loans and buying a brand new 380....i mean c'mon, its just a car!....Maybe its just me but i couldnt care how good a car is, i will probably never buy a brand new one, even if i could pay it in full. If people stopped and thought about just how much it is going to cost them to sell their current car + interest charges + DEPRECIATION, i reckon they would faint.

Fleet sales and well off 40+ year olds who already own a house and perhaps want to spoil themselves, fair enough (thats the target market after all).....but 20 year olds working their ass off to pay off a massive debt just to drive a family car, albeit a nice one

Agreed, for $40 odd grand you could pick up a nice 2nd hand sports car :P

Everyone's just gone 380 crazy. And not necessarily in a good way. It's just another new car...

I went for a test drive. Probably a little quicker than the magnas tho it doesn't really feel it. Its a good solid car but the exterior and interior doesn't do it for me. I wouldn't buy one.
