My mate has some rims he used to have on his XR lying around doing nothign in his garage (18's), so i said i'll keep them warm while he sorts out what he wants to do with them :D Now, from memory, they fit right on, but i have to use the magna nuts or bolts or some crap? What exactly is required?

Nah, they will fit fine.

But please, buy a set of centrecaps from your dealer (dunno prices.... anyone) and get rid of the ford caps, coz you don't wanna have Ford logos on your Magna.

Your nuts should be fine as is, consider a set of lock nuts and put one on each wheel.

they will go straight on, depending on what sort of nuts they had on them as some cars ie. commos the nuts are coned and the angle seats the wheel properly.

they will have the wrong offset tho but i have the wrong offset on my wheels but it looks cool as they sit out the guards a bit

ive fitted ba xr6 17" wheels onto my car in the past. they fit no problems. Sit a tad further out than stock wheels bust still within the guards.

that means the offset is wrong and it might throw the geometry of the suspension right out of wack, this not being a good thing. it shouldnt be too bad tho, and by the sounds of things.. the price is right :D those wheels look good and will suit a magna.

good stuff. yeh i was def keeping the center caps off, although i'm a huge ford fan.. it's jsut not right to have the logo on the mitsu. All i gotta do is wait for my mate to get his new rims... black xr6t with 19" blick wheels with silver outline thing, they're gonna look hawt!
cheers for the help :)

To be 100% safe and legal you need to have some spacers for the centre spigot holes. Ford wheels have a larger centre hole than Magnas.

A wheel is designed to load-bear on the centre spigot NOT the wheel studs. Most tyre shops should be able to supply you with them.

Having said that, HEAPS of people don't have them in and have no problems.
Me, I wouldn't take the chance with my safety.

You can't get them, they don't make center hub locators for magna > falcon rims. Just too big apparently. I know this becuase my friend who works a beaurepairs tried to get some for me when we put 17's on my car.

But like you said heaps of people have rims with out canter hub locators. You just have to make sure u balance the wheels on the studs evenly when putting them on.
