Hi all,
Just a quick question in regards to the 3.5 litre engine.
When it was first used in the Verada's and then Magna it had a claimed power output of 147kw and 300NM. They then changed the cam for better efficiency and it was then claimed to produce 150k and 300nm. Then a short time later the figures changed to 155kw and 316nm (excluding the sports/vrw with different exhaust 163kw and 317nm) but with no known changes to the engine????
Can someone shed some light on where the extra 5kw's and 16nm came from? And if so how do you get that extra 5kw's and 16nm out of the 150kw motor? what is involved?
Thanks all

I believe it was something to do with ecu tune and another cam profile change. \Don't quote me cause most likely i will be wrong.

the series 1 vrx's had a different rear muffler and a different cam profile. So the 150-155kw jump was from the normal 3.5L using the vrx cam. Then they just used the rear muffler for the 155-163kw

No worries. I have been looking at adding some headers (redback) so I guess they will make some difference on my 150kw TJ then. I know the 5kw's that the later TJ's TL's etc gained doesnt seem much, but the extra 16nm seems to be worth it.
