well u would need a custom floor plan and custom driveline and i cant see this not being cheap especially if ur not doing the work urself

u would have to find a place that does a heap of custom work and is willing to do this, think u might find that u'll get laughed at or told it cant be done by most places

or u can get in contact with Darryl Mcbeth sumhow and see if he can put u in a direction to go, he owns the Red V8 RWD Magna

You would be spending many 10s of thousands of dollars, and in the end result in a slower car (more weight, driveline loss). Things I'd imagine you have to change:

- Turn engine placement 90degrees, and relocate any other items in the engine bay to make space.
- OR, adapt a transfer case to the existing transmission to send drive to the rear wheels.
- Cut n shut firewall/floorpan to make way for propshaft.
- Replace rear axle with one which includes a diff + driveshafts
- Redesign most of the centre console + rear seat interior trim to fit the newly created transmission tunnel.

It would make a fun, albit pointless project :D

i'm currently, going through a similar process for my TS, (though i'm going AWD) but similar rear end and trans tunnel work will need to be done. and thats enough of a job in itself
As a guess, for the engine bay, the firewall may need to be relocated further back, a custom cross member, basically more custom work that is harder to get engineered than the rear end. (creating a heap of more dramas if you want to keep the dash plus A/C and heater) to fit a North-south engine trans configuration, thats where i reckon the real problem lies.

sorry i cant help but laugh. dont ask stupid questions. i felt like i was reading a Hot4's magazine when i read your post. example

" Hi my names habib and im 16, My mums got a fully sic 96 model Excel, ive already put some fluffy dice in it, some shiney hubcaps from autobahn, and a big MOMO sticker, its *** HECTIC. its a bit slow, so i was thinking of turbo'ing it or putting in a engine from a mclaren. Can my local K-Mart tire and auto do this for me, also how much will it cost and how hard is it to do. I work at maccas so aslong as its under $200 i can do it. "

dont be silly. Kmart is did a fine job with my ferrari engine swap into the kingswood last week. they also converted in to awd for me at no extra charge.

all they asked in return was that i got them delivery driver jobs at dominos

ill do it for $200 :D

give me the money...ill open the bonnet up, position the maclaren engine a few metres over the empty engine bay and give the order to release the chains ;)
