I'm thinking of running a seventh injector on the intake to supplement my car's desire for more fuel with the cams..

Anyone done this on a magna before? If not, I'll take my chance and go ahead and do it then..

On my mates TS on his turbo engine he has 4 extra injectors and fuel rail built into the top Plenum chamber ... runs off the piggy back computer..
(it is a 4 banger but I dont see why it would be different for you.

He had them propperly aloy welded into the side of the chamber.

Thanks TB!

So your mate runs it off the engine block?

For me, I want to have the extra one done on the air intake before the TB and have the controller installed too... kinda like a back up when the need for gas is required.. But now u're talking about 4 extra.. What about me having 6 extra LOL WOOOOO! Gotta love it :D

yeah, seen this setup on few highly tune turbo cars. basically extra injectors were set to minimise fuel starvation for turbo car, sometimes when you push it really hard and the stock injectors are at its limit. usually this setup only for high rpm like 5500+. but i'm not sure if you need it in N/A car, might worth a try tho..

Why go to the hassles of trying to engineer room and placing for and extra injector or 6 if you are worried about fuel starving?? Wouldn't it be easier just to get some higher flow injectors and run it that way?? I am assuming you are still running factory injectors - and with your stage 2 cams - maybe it is time to upgrade the injectors??

Maybe just a heftier fuel pump? Isn't Dave still using the stock injectors in his TT setup?

Sorry nick you do noty put the injector before the TB, you would put it after if you went that way.
Bigger injectors, higher fuel pressure and most important, you have spent al this money on your bits so get the car tuned properly in the first place

sorry nick..... but you can have 1200 sparkplugs, and your car will still sound like a diesel train!!!   :D

you just wait..... once i cover the car in stickers......and then about 6 gauges.....oh and a MASSIVE GT wing!!!

according to the stickers/rice vs hp coefficient (sk+r x hp) i'll have at least 1200kw atw :D :D :D ROFLMMFAO ;)

ps...gimme ur headlights

Hey nick, sorry for the O/T but did your cams get swapped and/or the ticking sound fixed?

It didnt do any damage did it?

Without going into great detail in one work don't do the extra injector business.

Its not needed in a N/A car as the sotck injectors are actually larger than what ht ecar needs and can provide fuel easily up to 200kw the problem would be more fuel pump which is where the car would need an upgrade.

Extra injectors before throttle bodies are dangerous. They do not provide equal fuel distribution to all cylinders - especially on a6 cyl magn with long runners and as such you need to run it extremely rich on some cylinders so that the other cylinders run right.

If you want larger injectors with a piggy back ECU like the greddy, then that is no problem but again not something to worry about with the N/A magna.

We found that hte stock fuel pump is good for 200hp at the front wheels max. after this we upgrade the fuel pump to a unit twice hte flow rate and good for around 275 hp at the front wheel.s

I'll stick with my 450HP Fuel Pump then.... :D

Can you safely run such a high powered Fuel Pump on a non modified car?
I want to get a higher powered pump for futre modifications.... but I dont have them yet and was wondering how it would effect everyday running? .... would it cause me to get worse fuel economy?

Well, the only thing I find irritating on the fuel pump is that if you run a high volume one, say 650HP pump like my sister's S15, the pump is so noisy that it's like a waterpump buzzing under the car, even with the 550cc one I have in the Evo 6, the sound can be heard.... bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

What are the benifits of having an internal or external fuel pump....?
a 500hp internal BOSCH is cheaper than a 500hp external BOSCH.
