Cools, you might be able to sought out a few of the rumours etc.
What are the chances of a power upgrade for the VRX/GT in the near future?
What are the chances of a return to All wheel drive?
What is Mitsubishi looking at for the series 2? Hints? (yes I know its just been launched!!)
Thanks

Hi again,
In response to your questions, the 380 has been received well lots of good feedback we have 5 demo vehicles and they have all been constantly on demo drives for the past 3 days.
Sales are steady and to be expected there are allot of people taking the opportunity with the launch to drive the car, with a desire to purchase in the near future.
We have not had this much enquiry for many years.
It is great to see all the Holden and Ford drivers giving positive feedback that our product is now the benchmark for Australian built cars.
**Power upgrade? Not at this stage of the game, all the focus at this time is on the currant line up, not to say that it wont happen but there has been no mention of a power increase, the AWD may happen some day but the extent of the $$ investment 600 million it will depend on the future success of this first series.

With the Fuel Economy on the Manual, is it worse due to the shorter gearing? Also on a constant 100-110k cruise i heard the manual sits on 3000 revs, is this true and how does it affect NVH levels?

Hi Andrew and thanks for dropping in.
Is there a Wagon version coming later? I know with the Sigma they retained the original body shell for the 2nd gen in 82 and added a high roof as the TM didn't have a wagon at the start.
If no wagon, this is one girl who will have to look at the opposition.

seriosuly we shouldnt bombard this guy with questions like weight, most of it you can probalby find online, also, some of the questions you ugys ask like the power increase, i dont think a dealer will know at this point of time, just give him a break :D

No wagon version is planned. No point, Lancer Wagon is big enough for most. Then you have the Grandis and Pajero.

yeah and a sales rep i know said that his business that he works for just bought about 10 outlanders for the reps rather than the magna wagon/falcon wagon/commodore wagon...
there isnt really a market for wagons.. toyota dropped it wagon a few years back and with more and more people being given a chioce in their business car, most are opting to not get the standard white magna/falcon/commodre wagon and going for other vehicles that appeal to them..

Welcome, its nice to have a factory man here :D
As an older (leave it you lot lol ) big car driver I'm very impressed with the 380, it addresses all the issues I had with the magna (no offence to the 3rd gens out there) kudos
Have you read the thread entitled Paint Disaster! Warranty Question ?
What are your thoughts?

Yes the new Outlander looks amazing.... NOT a V6 at this stage, a 2.4 twin cam mivec, 125kw 4 cylinder mated to a CVT transmission!!..... personally id like to see a V6, but it should do the business!
The pajero is AGES away!....

Been looking at the outlander.jp site. The interior looks far better quality then the previous outlander. I like it allot.
A 2.4lt DOHC MIVEC mated to CVT will be a good combo. Ive heard that the Aussie version could have a V6.

Hi Andrew,
I currently have a fleet BA Mk2 XR6 and the new 380 interests me. I’m assuming there are fleet discounts available and if so, could you please let me know who to contact to get further information.

Just a guess at this stage but there is a really good chance that we might not see him back... he hasn't logged in since the first day he came. As much as it would be good to have MMAL to somehow take an open interest, someone in his organisation may have whispered in his ear that he may be taking a risk by being so open and public about it.
I think sometimes anyone working in a dealership have to be careful what they state considering they are essentially representing the interests of their company, and with one comment out of line they could be having to explain themselves, unless they have had clearance or are a public spokesperson etc.
There is a good chance our site is being monitored by MMAL on a regular basis, why not, after all it is best form of free feedback they could ever hope to get.
If he comes back I will eat my words he he.

Agreed. Hence the grille on the new car, the headlights, the bonnet changes and the attempts to take the bulk out of the rump with styling changes. I think this site comprehensively bagged the Galants front end, partic the centre section of their grille. And all our photoshop guesses at the new car probably guided MMAL in the final stages of product design, in some small way. I hope so. At least confirmed their thinking. Even if we are biased. :)

I was speaking to a sales bloke from a Mitsi dealership in Melbourne today while I was looking at the site. I told him about it and he asked for the URL. He was impressed and didn't even know about the place.
I think he will be lurking and maybe even posting but if he has any brains he will keep his profession to himself.

Thanks for letting me know.
I was actually surprised that he identified himself as most car makers don't want their employees posting on forums because just the smallest hint and the whole world knows.

Hi again guys its been a while surprise! :bowrofl: It’s been hard to get back on, due to lots of time being put into the launch for the past month.
Yes I agree, I have to be very careful what I say but in the interest of this forum you are the supporters and or the people that can honestly give the best feedback whether negative or positive this is valuable information that as dealers may overlook.
PaulST my phone number is 02 46290183 so if you are still in the position to discuss you fleet it can be arranged.
As for the question on finance, everyone who is stable in their finances and are working would be able to apply for finance over the age of 18.
Congats to the forum members that have taken the step into a new 380 they have made a valuable contribution and will enjoy the best built Aussie car ever. :D

To help you build that bridge you need to build and get over, I am giving you a break for 2 days... just let it go, if you recall the discussion actually continued... or did you forget that? You haven't been here that long, yet so ready to judge.

I don;t think they shoot down every negative discussion, just things that have been repeted over and over and over, and silly poses like saying its the end for mitsu cause the tyres go balled after 80 000 km,
If you complained saying i think the clear rear lights should have been used in the whole range cause it suits the car better. the mods wouldn't care.
Yet Admin continues to shoot down any negative discussions...... go figure!!!
Target an admin and we will put a target on you.. I am sick of people having a go at moderators for doing what has been asked..
Continue to do this and i will deal out some swift glenn style punishment.. My bans wont be 2 days though..
They are closed for a reason, if you dont like it then take it up in PM's with the admins.
/end of discussio
