Upgrade diode pack, or delta phase wind...

I take it that this is a 2nd gen, as the alt in the 3rd gens is 120A IIRC...

Can i ask, wat ICE components are u running and how is this all hooked up?

I have a tech prob (i've started a thread in the Tech Torque section) which may, or may not be related, as ppl are suggesting that i may also have an alternator/batt prob.

Diode pack little part on back of alt (changes ac to dc)
startor out side statonary part of the alt
rotor inside part ( the bit that rotates)
end of lesson on ac motors today
Sorry about this jokes as a industrila electrician I work on motors and plc all day

So has any1 else had alternator problems ?

This happened on my Last car, which was a TF with the same system minus the dvd screen......

Bad wiring ?
stock battery ?

i dunno what is causing the problems....

i'd say probably both, bigger battery and better wiring should solve alot of problems

i have gone thru 2 alts in my car, i have the subs n stuff and thought i was just draining too much cos of **** battery but it turned out that it was because of some of the wires perishing and not making proper contact.
