My power windows stopped workijg today, with of course the window down. I took the switch unit out and pulled it apart to find the part where the power cable plugs in is burnt underneath the switch for the drivers window. I have rung Penrith mitsu and they quoted me $374 just for the part. Can anyone help me as to where I might be able to get my hands on one.

they know they are expensive to buy from genuine, so they also charge an arm n a leg

Wasnt there a recall on the power windows for the TJ-KJ models? - Recalls australia have nothing on it, but I have seen ppl on here talking about it, maybe you should ask around, you might be able to get it fixed for nothing!!!

I was quoted $774 for the part. Phoned my parents in Brisbane to ring around. Found one for $100. This is quite a saving. Also comes with 3 month warranty. :)

I dont think they had a recall, but they did have a 'fix' for the rhf elect window regulator. Its not very common for the switch to die, not that i know of anyway.

just find the live window wire and connect to the dead wire that makes the window go up =) least u can get ur window up until u get a new switch
