View Full Version : Engine Assembly Cover
Hi,
I just want to know would the Cover fit (bolt on) to the TE magna's?? I just rang mitsubishi and they said I need to change the "rocket cover" to get the engine assembly cover to fit?
Thanks

It just so happens I picked one of these up from my local mitsubishi today.
You don't need the rocker cover from the sports+ range, the cover will still bolt straight up to an exec plennum.
the difference in rocker covers is the exec's have "Mitsubishi - 24 Valve V6" or something imprinted on them, and if you bolt an engine over to it it will cover half the word Mitsubishi. The rocker cover from the models which came std with an engine cover also has 3 brakets welded to it which the engine cover is bolted to.
If you want a more authentic looking engine bay, and the engine cover to be more securely attached (fixed at 7 points instead of 4) - then buy the sports rocker cover, but it will make it a very expensive upgrade.
Plenty of ppl have brought just the engine cover and the bolts / clips required to fit it.

That's quite true but a new rocker cover with the bolt mounts is only about $100 including gasket so if you want a complete look its not a big deal financially.
For the full set:
Engine Cover: Part Numbers:
1 x MD321351 Cover – Rocker - Left
2 x MD318213 Clamp-Accel
2 x MF140722 Bolt - Flange - 6x10mm
5 x MD318212 Bolt & Washer Assembly
1 x MD338934 Cover Assembly - Engine ('3500 24 Valve' sticker) Other stickers have different part numbers
1 x MD321352 Gasket – Rocker Cover
Total was about $170 including GST at Phill Gilberts a couple of months ago.
