I'm also looking at changing leads and yes you need to remove the manifold and also you might as well change the plugs while you have it off.

I should of changed the leads when I changed the plugs

I wouldn't be changing leads unless there is something wrong with them. IE: Misfiring, rough idling, bogging down etc

yeah killbilly is in the no, he no's nothing - punter!!!
I recently change my leads from around 5-6mm as stock on the TS up to 8.8mm because i was hunting a missfire, i also changed to supa doopa plugs in the missfire exercise and i would of gained about 30kw when i tell someone, but around 1kw in reality.
If something is wrong and needs replacing, and a potentially better option is avaliable, then go for it but as the old saying goes, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"

yeah she is playing up. nothing major just annoying more than anything else. the best way to describe what is happening is it is carrying on as thought it is out of fuel but much more subtlely. most noticable at low revs and under load. and doesn't improve when the engine warms up. i've been told the new injectors are pretty good and its most likely not that. the mechanic said that the leads looked fine (but later realised he didn't actually test them, just looked at them  ) but that the back plugs had never been done so i might as well do them but didn't do the leads thinking they were fine. but that didn't solve the prob. so i checked the leads and it read 1999 on them. is this when they were manufactured?? :? . The other thing i've been told it could be is the "accelrator control actuator" or some thing (i think someone screwed up in passing the message) might need cleaning. but wouldn't the ecu compensate for the reduction in fuel or unsteady flow by pumping more petty? any ideas? performance is fine. fuel mileage is reasonable. its done 100k mostly highway, stock except panel filter. Thanks everyone.

Do plugs and leads at the same time in that case :)

Then if the problem persists it could be distributor based.
