i did the search and didnt get much. i got a aftermarket alarm installed yesterday by JB-HIFI and all is good except the installer said that he cant get pased the factory alarm. so when i arm the car all is good but when i disarm it the alarm the factory alarm goes crazy and the car starts beeping. he told me that i have to disarm the factory alarm and it should say in the owners manuall how to. well i looked and theres nothing bout dis arming or disconnecting the factory alarm. ne ideas in wat can be done. at the moment to get in my car i have to unlock the car with my key and then dis arm the alarm which is pretty annoying.
ne help will be great.
thanks guys

What a sh*t installer, it's easy to keep the factory alarm permanently disabled. There are grounded contact points on all 3 lock cylinders, which close when you turn the key (to disarm alarm/unlock the car). Simply attach a permanent ground to one of these contact points.

mate i wouldnt even bother trying to do this yourself... you paid to have your alarm PROFESSIONALLY installed for a reason...
take it back and make them fix this cr@p job for you

man i had this nightmare on wednesday. Had my tweeked out fusion one fitted. OMG such a diaster. The microwave sensor wasnt working. The shock sensor wasnt even FITTED!!! and upon disarming the alarm the factory one would go off. After alot of ****ing around they rang fusion...fixed up the shock sensor port (had to have wire harness adjusted) fusion were able to tell the installer how to disengage the factory alarm. We then fixed the microwave sensor and the shock sensor was in.
although last night at milton i ran into a slight problem...with all the loud cars and the untuned sensors....the bass and exhausts were setting it off. So instead of fiddling with the shock sensor without a phillips head screwdriver, i just locked the car with the key instead. windows down...mate reaches in to open car and then unlocks the door : alarm starts going off and im like ahh **** i dont have the mitsu remote on me...so im just standing around waiting for it to turn off and LUCKILY rod (white magna with 19's) was there to save me and told me to put the key in the ignition and start the car. Thank god it turned off.
my installer said to me its one wire that needs changing and to follow it back from the door. Hopefully this helps. If not: ring Mal(possibly mel) at wow sight and sound, rothwell and ask how they disengaged the standard alarm in the white TJ on wednesday
basically it CAN be done
My aftermarket one works perfectly up to a point.
Mitsu guy recons that the after market barrel antenna is interfering with the mitsu barrel antenna, thats why the check light keeps comming on. So why has this car worked for 10 months with this alarm in, i ask...
