This just occured to me the other day, so i figured i'd ask on here for the answer.
I've been told that there's a couple of model magna's that are awd, yes? (not sure which ones tho, TJ i think?).
Now with gtr skylines, there's a fuse you can remove that makes the car rwd only...just wondering if it's possible to do the same with the awd magna's???
Cheers, :)

there where AWD magnas available in TJ, TL and TW guises (basically any magna from 2002 onwards)
no there is no simple fuse to turn it from AWD into RWD, it is a fully mechanical setup so the only way to do this is to make major modifications to the gearbox unlike the skyrines which is all electronic

...and before anyone asks....
the awd is a 50:50 f:r split ALL the time.

The AWD makes for some pretty impressive 4 wheel powerslides around roundabouts in the wet too :)
Hehe...

quit showing off heath! :(
The one thing you are all forgetting is that the AWD setup is still in a transverse configuration, so even if you removed the front drive shafts (and left the splines in though to prevent bearing failure) it will still not operate as effectively as a normal longitudal RWD setup.

Just wait until you change the suspension. Adjustable rear sway bar makes a world of difference even if you didnt do the rest. Makes it a lot easier to get the back out and hold it. Very entertaining stuff.

I know that subaru's had the same thing with there AWD but when the fuse was put in it would only operate in FWD because the fuse stoped the TCU from engaging the rear clutch packs

It can be done its the same as the VR4 galant buy a diff lock and remove the front shafts, Now you have to cut the shafts and put back in place without the shaft that connects the front wheels and you should have a RWD a diff lock is somewhere around $1600 and $2200
