A mate of mine has a TP Magna with a completely dead engine, and is wondering whether to put another engine in it, to get it up to a roadworthy level (to trade it in), or just getting rid of the car.

It's a 1989 TP GLX (so carbied), 5speed with ~240000km on the clock, and it's pretty much standard.

I'm thinking it's not worth spending the money to fix it, since you can buy decent running first gens for <$1000, and it'd get SFA tradein, but what do you guys think?

IF he really wanted to keep it, id do an engine swap if i had the cash.

if not, sell the whole thing or part it up.
