2 x 12" would be my choice.

2x 12" with a monoblock amp...
that said... something to be said for 10"s with trance.
If you like the bass drops, 12s definitely.
You could go a single 15 is a much smaller sealed box than recommended too

Quality over quantity. A single quality 10" would kill 2 x cheap 12's.
Look into spending more on one sub than less on two imo
But need more info, what's powering it? what budget? do you want a nice install or are you only worried about the sound?

Exactly what Tim said.
Had a customer here yesterday with a Supra that had two Rockford 12's. She complained the bass wasn't heavy enough and so I put here in a car with one Diamond TDX10 running off a Zapco 1100.1. Suddenly she has enough bass.
I would suggest one good quality 12" with a powerful monoblock. If that is not enough then start looking for another sub and monoblock.

well i'm only running pioneer 15' at the moment at 700watts which is connected to my boss 5channel
i'm going to upgrade to two amps, one for the speakers and one for the sub/s
so i was seeing cause i've been told 15" are more suited to slower rap style beats,
and im was looking at either alpine, pioneer or mtx for the amps, and wondering if i should loose the 15' and replace it with something. money isn't a problem

True a 15 inch is more suitable to R&B but if it is tuned Properly and Fed the correct power then there is no reason not to keep it...
I would look at getting your system looked at by a Pro like FHRX and see what he thinks could be done for you...
It may only be as simple as an enclosure change

If money isnt a problem, get 2 IDMAX 12's. Even 1 IDMAX 12 would be plenty.
You'll need 1000wrms of clean power.
Tru Tech would be a good recommendation for amps.
(Money is never not a problem though)

i agree with the useage of a good quality amp, i heard a set of hertz spilts through a sony xplod amp, and the difference between that amp and the sound stream amp was extremely noticeable.

1x SoundStream Exact 12" Sub. It's all you need, unless you want the rattles of your car louder than your music lol lol
