Well i decided to spray my calipers yesterday and while i had the rim off i gave em a good clean.
Heres a pic, what ya'll think.

Did you paint them gold?? LOL i just did mine last fortnight gold as they were red and i wanted them to blend in more..

Narh i didnt take em off, just covered everything up and sprayed it all.
I was thinkin bout red but then after looking through a mag i saw (cant remember what it was on) but it had brembo brakes which were gold and decided that gold would look better.

also just read your sig, (19" Dolce DC12's).. you wont even see the calipers if you put those rims on dude. lol

Im thinkin about goin for a drive now to bob jane and seeing if they have any nice lookin 18/19'' rims.
But it will be a while b4 i get new rims so its all good for now.

Hey Gold looks really nice! Like the Gold Brembos, although IMHO it looks much nicer with a 4 piston setup (ala MY00+ WRX) whereby the outer view shows the back of 2 pistons instead of just a retainer half and the back of one of the pads.

Hey thanks for posting the pics of the gold Brake Cals.
I have a can of Gold Engine Paint ready for mine (is this what you used?).
I'm planning to do mine in a months time while I'm on Hols.
Now I know they will look good :D

Yeah i bought a can of "Chrome Gold" by septone.
woulda only taken me bout halfa but i cleaned the whole mag while it was off so it took a little longer, But it was worth it.

Make sure you get High Temp paint as normal paint will flake with heat..

Yeh I got some hardcore stuff from Autobarn. Was gonna get VHT but they didn't have any red left.

Yeah it seems the VHT Red's are always out of stock. I've got to get another caliper painted, but i've ran out of paint, and the warm weather disappeared, so waiting for summer to arrive....

i used thisstuff from super cheap on my rims, so far they are looking excellent.
and as super cheaps paint stock is 85% this brand well i had no real choice did i :doubt:
its still pretty good stuff though.

I used High Temp Chevy Engine Block Orange.. Its as close to Red as I could find with a 500 Degree rating

I went to 2 repco's today and they had the VHT brand and the red colour... :)

I didn't mean to regurgitate an old thread but just wanna check if removing the wheels to paint the callipers will affect their alignment/balancing? 'Cos i just had mine done at the shop when i upgrade the wheels during the weekend.
