just given my stock head unit form my TJ to a friend on mine to put into his Galant VR4. will it work? or will the security get in the way of it? also, does anyone have a wiring diagam for the stock head?

It will work. Just make sure you give the guy the Security Code as well.

i gave my stock headunit to one of my dad's mates, he installed it in his 80's Nissan Van! he figures out the wiring all himself and apparently has no problems with it
