Follwoing Symptoms..

1. Slight Missfire and lack of Acceleration but fine once car is being Gunned
2. Blackish Brown Spark Plugs on the Front Bank only after 3000k's I clean them and 500k's later back to Blackish brown
3. Blue Smoke Under Harsh Acceleration Only on rare Occasions, no sign of Water or anything in the Oil very little oil being Burnt.
4. Seems like the Automatic Choke is on all the time.. Holds 2000 rpm even on closed Throttle takes awhile to settle down to normal Revs.. Blipping the Throttle has little effect.
This does not happen all the time but is frequent enough to be a concern

Rocker cover gaskets have been replaced no signs of Oil leaks

As for the Brownish Black Plugs, I can assume I am running too Rich
I have checked the MAF and PCV valve Both working fine
So what else could be causing the Gremlins in my Engine bay..

maybe put new sparkies in.
i had all the symptons u had, changed my sparkies, wen i took them out they were all nice n black too but i changed all 6 too iridiums again and changed the oil and its all nice now.
i do have a small leak around the rear rocker cover though but nothing majior

I'd have said you're burning a bit of oil. Blue smoke and carbon deposits on plugs: nearly always engine oil being burnt

Do you have to check/top up oil regularly?

If you're burning oil, you'll probably need new piston rings... which comes with a rebuild or recondition.

If you don't drive the car too hard, you should be right for a while but you'll probably need a rebuild sometime soon (next few years).

*edit* :stoopid: change your oil too, it'll probably help

I'm with Danstraz.

Might also be lousy fuel, do you get it at the same place all the time?

Change the plugs and put some injector clean through it to see if that helps. :)

Black tipped sparkies = possibly overfuelling?? Car probably is running rich. Does it use a bit of fuel or do u have an excessively blacked exhaust pipe? Could be in need of injection service perhaps..
But agreed with others about blowing smoke. Valve stem seals and piston rings probably need doing.

how many km on clock and when did u have injectors cleaned last?

Has 137.000 on the Clock.. I have Run Premuim Unleaded through it once every 5 Tanks and at the moment i have a Can of Octane Boost and Clean with 20 litres of Vortex 95 in it to see if the miss fire goes away..
I pulled out and CLeaned the Plugs till they were like new..

I am thinking the 02 Sensor has possibly failed or is giving faulty readings ??

Spark Plugs Changed...
Still have Problems...

It burbles badly on a Closed Throttle..
Then once you slow down to 2000rpm it keeps it there....I think I will check out the Throttle body and see what is happening there..

I cant see it mentioned, so what sort of car and what sort of engine?

Have you overfilled our oil? That will cause ALOT of blow by.

get a picture of the plugs, its the best way to tell.

also a compression test might be in order, couldnt hurt anyway.
