I am in the process of removing my old muffler to put a redback in but i'm stuck. I have all the mounts and bolts off except for the rear-most rubber mount. How do i get the hook thing from the muffler out of the rubber mount there? I'd really like to get this done now, so please help!

U mean the rubber is very thight to the bracket? Try lubricatiing it and use long screw driver as a lever. Push the muffler as far to the other direction to ease off the tension on the other rubber ring.

Are you sure about that??? Redback muffler bolted straight on for me, all hooks on muffler lined up perfectly with the hangers. Do you have an aftermarket rear bar? AWD? or Aftermarket cat back piping (not Redback or stock design)?

Sounds very unlikely that it wouldn't fit unless maybe you got the sedan version for a wagon or vice verca.

You may have difficulty because there is insufficient space to swing the muffler
If so, jack up the body relative to the wheels.

i got it from a guy who had it on his TJ sedan i think it was. all the rubber mounts fit and it lines up perfectly, only the flange (i think its called that) where it bolts onto the rest of the exhaust is bigger then the stock one. i checked and its not that cheap to have it fixed so its in the for sale section now. most likely its for the 3.5L.

Just swap flanges. Takes 10mins at any fabrication shop.

i went to two places trying to get that done. first place was busy for a week and the second was midas. guy there didn't know how to do it but recommended cutting off both flanges and clamping it on.

i will try some more fabrication shops though if its a simple job. thanks!

if anyone has trouble getting the rubber hanger mounts off the exhaust system the best thing to use is a silicone spray or wd40 makes them very easy to get off and put back on

Are you in the Newcastle Area? If so my Dad's Muff shop is at East Maitland, we'll take of the flange for you.

You can time me too ;)
