Hey guys,
My car has been Revving up to 2000*ish RPM when I start the Ignition, but then almost in a few seconds it drops to 1000*ish. (Happens really quick)
I've been putting up with it until my next service.
Anyone know what the problem could be?
Basic Ignition system, sparks , leads , rotor , D cap are all fairly new.

havnt payed attention to my cars startup... but that sounds normal? if the car still drives normally and doesnt idle high once the revs drop dont think theres anything to worry about. Try disconnecting the battery, wait 10 minutes and reconnect.

This is perfectly normal, all it is is your car idling and then your idle speed controller will lower the revs depending on how warm your engine is, you'll notice this alot more on colder mornings. Could mean that your idle is set too high though, mine only goes up to about 1500. From memory when my ISC went it would idle at 2000, but would pretty much stay there.

Yeah sounds normail to me. SOmetimes they do it a little higher than usual after disconnecting the battery but it is totally normal.

Depending on temperature surrounding, but when its cold outside mine hits 1800-2000 on cold startup, then sits on 1400 for a bit then gradually down to 1000. When its hot outside, about 1500-1800 still, and goes down quicker. So yours sounds normal to me. Maybe dropping down to 1000 really quick is different. Try disconnecting the battery and reconnecting in half and hour and let it reprogram itself. When I do this it idles much lower then over a week gets back higher.
