Front splits

UNDECIDED

Plan:

To run the front splits off 2 channels and then the sub of the other two bridges everyones telling me to get a bigger amp but i really dont see the point! Is there any, would i be missing out? I listen to punk/metal and limited techno so im not looking for massive basss but enough to keep me going! What you all think of that system? BTW my splits are 5.25 inches so anyone suggest some splits?

Thanks

So ***cing what?????

he wants to know a good system for his car and this is what you have to say about it?

gee thats really constructive information you gave him there im sure he knows just what to do now.

if you dont have anything nice to say dont say it at all.

friggen hell

*EDIT*
and he's not RAVING on about it, hes just mentioning what car he has.
*EDIT EDIT*
trav, look around for a pioner DEH P5750...or something like that. has all the bells and whistles you would expect but at around the $360 mark, from ebay. if i got a new HU that one would be it.

and has your CRESSIDA got rear speakers?

The 4 channel amp is a good way to go. Then later on if you want to upgrade further you can bridge it to run two subs, or to give your fronts heaps of power.

Jaycar are great bang for your buck as well.

i've installed that headunit into a mates car, they're also great value and sound pretty good. how much u buying it for though? JB have them on special frequently.

Peace

I listen to alot of punk rock also, and I'd reccommend the 12" pioneer sub though. I've got a DEH-P1Y HU (retails for $899), and Pioneer 6.5" (check profile for model #), same for 6x9's, and I've got the 4x100WRMS Jaycar amp... I love it!! Sound's sweet!

But yeah.. if you can find one, I'd be looking for the 12" sub. I dunno the model # but it's in my profile.

Ok, Is it not a Sedan, Is it not similiar size??
There fore I am willing to say it doesnt matter as long as he is happy to take the advice we can offer who cares I mean there is a Member on here who drives a Turbo Charade and a Few Supra Owners.. Booya Does not even have a ride and he is still a Valued Member..

Now Back on Topic...

1. I would look at Spending More on the Head unit..
For Ease of Installation look at one that has Sub out..Does this Pioneer Feature Sub out??
This will give more Control over your sound

2. Spending More on the Front stage is a Great Idea, Don't skimp out on here.. Clarion do a nice set of 5.25 inch Splits at a Reasonable price.. Check them out..

3. The Amplifier and Sub Choice is Great but a 12 inch is a wiser option..

4. Its a Large sedan, I would look at getting some 6 inch Rears to fill in the Gap Between the 5.25 inch Splits and the sub.. a 6 or 6.5 inch Pioneer 2-way would go good..

5. I would go with a Sealed enclosure for the sub.. Have you factored this into your cost ??

EDIT** I have just Checked the Deck you have listed and according to its Features it only has one Pre Out.. Not going to work out on the plans you have listed.

I would therefore suggest a JVC KDG615 as an alternative deck..

If you like Pioneer at least get the next level up.. Featured here.. It is However more expensive then the JVC one I have suggested..

The choice of system design is fine but given the choice I would probably use different components because for similar money there is better out there. ;)

i can vouch for the 5750, it is a fantastic head unit, But if you don't have rear speakers, you can program the rear bank to bypass to you're sub, then you'd be looking at some monster bass. I was tinkering and reading the manual last w/e and founf these options and OMG  there was some awesome sound punching out. (only problem the subs and 6x9's were having some cancelation issues). Just some food for thought.

thanks so far everyone. I didnt know whether i needed rears or not. Would some 6's be fine flor the back? Say some 3 ways? Or dont even bother and just get 2 ways?

That headunit is just a step up from mine. Mine just doesn't have that round turning knob. Anyways, JB sell these on special at the moment and are around $170 i think it was. Not quite sure.

And for the rears, well, depends if you have passengers in the back at times. If so, i would say get some 6inch 3 way speakers. People keep telling me not to bother and spend around $600 on front splits then you won't need rear speakers. But i would never spend that much on front splits. lol

Jaycar sell some nice 6" 3way speakers which are pretty good. Go there and have a listen to them.

i think it might be worth getting some rears mainly because some 5.25" at the front wont be THAT good i wouldnt expect. The JVC headunit looks good. Might go have a listen to some headunits and speakers on sunday.

Going to a 3-way is not neccessary if you go splits up front..

I would Settle for a 2-way..Saves money and still gives rear end imput without going overboard..

any suggested 2 way's for the back? lowish budget but still sound good (say 200 max?)

6" 2 way's would work. Kicker, pioneer i think would be the way to go (since you said >$200) and the run the mid and high range through the front splits. run the HPF on 50 And runn bass and through the sub and rears. My sugest!!

HPF set at 50 is way to low, sure way to fry the speakers.

Unless their top end splits, I wouldnt go any lower then 80. And thats with a 6.5" driver.

Anything smaller and should be setting the HPF higher.

Look at the respone kevlar splits from jaycar, for 150 and their suppose to be top pretty decent.

Mr Magna..
Comments like this are not warranted
Liverpool_rule88 has been a member in here for a while and is more then Welcome to ask advice about the System plans he has for his Cressida..
Just Because he decided to buy a Cressida over a Magna does not make him any less wanted..
He has asked US for help as others have offered comments that you have posted..
Please refrain from Negative Judgement until you can actually prove his Vehicle is Inferior to ours..

Well instead of being so pretencious and acting like a fool, pass on some HELPFULL information. If you're an expert you would obviously be getting questions like this, but just sounds like piss and wind when you just burst in and start bagging people out!
